Job Description
The Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing contributes to Nordstrom success by leading a team of individual contributors in developing sourcing strategies and in managing suppliers for best value, quality and service. Partnering cross-functionally to deliver goals for Indirect Categories (Store Development, Store operations, Store services, Asset Protection) for the Nordstrom organization you will manage a spend of $350 million plus depending upon market complexity.
**This role is Hybrid in downtown Seattle, WA - you will be in office 3 days per week. We do not offer relocation for this role at this time.
A day in the life....
- Support Development and execution of Sourcing Category Strategies
- Collaborate internally with stakeholders and externally with suppliers to deliver on strategic short and long-term goals
- Deliver measurable and strategic goals to enable a competitive advantage to bottom-line and top-line company growth
- Develop and leverage strong business and professional relationships with strategic suppliers and industry players
- Manage and measure suppliers for continuous performance improvement
- Solve problems and make decisions for primary and strategic execution and tactical issues within the relevant portfolio of projects and or processes
- Lead cross functional teams, mentor and develop sourcing managers
- Set team direction and coach team members to achieve results.
- Leads conversations with executive level leaders both internally and externally about strategic sourcing opportunities and build seamless collaborative engagement with common vision.
- Demonstrates leadership for best-in-class management of multiple complex sourcing categories with business acumen and industry expertise authority.
You own this if you have...
- 10+ years relevant experience, 4+ years leading cross-functional teams in sourcing or supply chain required
- BA/BS degree preferred
- Industry knowledge of Store development, fixtures, store operations, and asset protection
- Advanced knowledge of market analysis, macro-economic drivers, sourcing category strategy, supplier relationship management, ‘should-cost’ models, and multi-year negotiation strategies, supplier continuous improvement programs/Lean Initiatives
- Proven ability to effectively build relationships with customers, peers and leadership and work with cross-functional teams
- Strong experience with MS Office Suite, BI Apps, charting programs and others
- Knowledge of business ethics and Ethical Sourcing Requirements
- Knowledge of critical procurement legal requirements and contracting best practices
- Thorough understanding of specific category and contract types
- Advanced analytical skills.
- Ability to influence at more senior levels, internally and externally.
- Exceptional communications ability, both written and verbal

Pay Range Details

Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
$141,500.00 - $233,500.00 Annual
This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
