Job Description

Job Title: Data Analyst – Strategic Reporting & Automation (Medical Billing)

Department: Process Improvement and Project Management

Reports To: Senior Manager – Process Improvement and Project Management

Location: Lahore

Role Summary:
The Data Analyst will serve as the technical enabler of financial and operational visibility by consolidating fragmented data, automating reporting pipelines, and building intuitive dashboards. This role supports the leadership with timely, accurate, and structured data for strategic decisions across billing operations. It bridges the gap between raw data and decision-making by standardizing data access, streamlining reporting processes, and delivering performance insights to internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Analysis & Financial Insight

  • Consolidate revenue, cost, productivity, and profitability data into cohesive performance narratives.
  • Conduct opportunity/risk analysis, ROI studies, and forecasting to support executive planning.
  • Enable cost optimization and provider-level benchmarking.

Data Consolidation & Integration

  • Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple departments including Billing, IT, Admin and Credentialing
  • Support IT in documenting and maintain a central data repository detailing ownership, formats, frequency, and access protocols.
  • Map and understand source systems, workflows, and interdependencies of financial and operational data.

Automation & Pipeline Development

  • Design, implement, and monitor automated ETL pipelines using SQL, Power Query or cloud-based tools.
  • Collaborate with IT for secure deployment of scalable pipelines integrated with internal databases and Excel reports.
  • Set up automated data pulls from third-party tools or internal APIs ensuring daily/weekly refreshes.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and internal access control policies when handling PHI or financial data.
  • Identify automation opportunities in recurring manual reporting and streamline workflows accordingly.

Dashboard & Report Development

  • Build advanced dashboards in Power BI or Tableau that track Operational KPI’s
  • Translate stakeholder requirements into clear data specifications, metrics logic, and visual mockups.
  • Collaborate with process analyst to support the creation of executive level reporting packs.
  • Maintain version control of key dashboards and periodically review usage logs and user feedback.

Ad-Hoc Analysis & Decision Support

  • Fulfill data requests from senior leadership, including time-bound comparative studies, opportunity identification, or risk analysis.
  • Build data-backed business cases and support visual storytelling using charts, benchmarks, and annotated summaries.

Governance, Documentation & Collaboration

  • Coordinate data flows and reporting schedules with Billing Managers, Accounts, QA, Credentialing, and US Operations.
  • Uphold data accuracy by performing periodic validation checks and peer reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or Finance
  • Certification in SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or ETL tools preferred
  • Knowledge of HIPAA data handling protocols preferred
  • Strong hand on experience in Microsoft excel, power point is preferred

Experience:

  • 2–3 years of experience in a Data Analyst, Reporting Analyst, or BI role (preferably within medical billing, BPO, or healthcare tech sectors)
  • Proven experience designing SQL-based queries, automating workflows, and building advanced dashboards
  • Exposure to working with EHR/PMS platforms such as Athena, or eClinicalWorks is a plus
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Operations, and Technology teams
