An ELV Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems, including CCTV, structured cabling, access control, and related electrical works. Candidates must have a strong foundation in general electrical work, with ELV expertise as the primary focus. Knowledge of gate automation, barriers, and smart access control systems is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation and Setup:

• Install, configure, and test ELV systems, including:
• CCTV cameras and recording equipment (DVR/NVR)
• Access control systems and intercoms
• Structured cabling (network and communication cabling)
• Audio/video systems as required
• Perform electrical connections and terminations as per standards.
• Assist in the installation of automation systems (gate motors, barriers, smart access) when required.

Maintenance and Repair:

• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and inspections on ELV systems to ensure reliable operation.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults, cabling issues, and device malfunctions.
• Replace faulty components and reprogram systems as necessary.

Technical Support & Documentation:

• Provide technical support to clients and colleagues on ELV systems.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service activities.
• Prepare reports and update system documentation.

Safety and Compliance:

• Follow safety procedures and electrical regulations during all work.
• Ensure all installations comply with local codes and manufacturer standards.
• Conduct risk assessments before starting any project.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum:
• Proven experience as an electrician or electrical technician.
• Solid knowledge of electrical wiring, circuits, and safety practices.
• Hands-on experience in installing and maintaining ELV systems, especially CCTV.
• Preferred:
• Familiarity with gate automation, barrier systems, and smart access controls.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Other Skills:
• Problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma, ITI, or vocational certificate in electrical/electronics.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in ELV installations and maintenance.

Additional Requirements:

• Driving license is a strong advantage.
• Willingness to work at different sites and occasionally outside normal working hours if required.

Work Environment:

• Field-based work in residential, commercial, and industrial premises.
• May involve working at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoor conditions.
