We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our team. The Procurement Specialist ensures that the agency's materials and products meet all of their specifications. They locate key suppliers and negotiate purchasing agreements with them on behalf of clients to get higher quality goods at the lowest prices possible.

Responsibilities
- Prepare proposals, request quotes and negotiate purchase terms and conditions
- Ability to communicate policies and procedures to internal staff
- Ability to deal directly with contractors and vendors for all related issues
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns
- Inspect and evaluate the quality of purchased items and resolve shortcomings
- Processes and edits purchase orders (POs), create PO reports, and assists with PO issues as needed
- Analyze industry and demand trends and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies
- Assist with special projects as required
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Requirements and skills
- Proven work experience as a Procurement Specialist or similar role
- Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of procurement laws, regulations, policies and procedures
- Knowledgeable of general skills in business practices and procedures
- Knowledge of the construction process
- Experience in the SCEIS SRM system with processing and editing purchase orders
- Must be organized and efficient with excellent communication skills and the ability to learn quickly
- Must have the ability to create reports, spreadsheets and Word documents as needed
- High School diploma and a minimum of three (3) years of work experience in procurement
- A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for two (2) years of procurement work experience
