Amazon’s Office Electronics Products group is looking for a talented, smart, experienced and entrepreneurial Vendor Manager to lead a retail product category in Office Electronics. As a Vendor Manager, you will have accountability for the business results for your product subcategories across Amazon and Amazon Business platforms. Your direct responsibility will be to manage performance of the product portfolio including developing and growing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, expanding product selection and vendor base, setting prices, developing marketing programs, driving sales and margin improvements and creating best-in-class customer experiences for B2C and B2B customers. The successful candidate will be able to take their broad skillset and experience across multiple facets of a retail business (e.g., buying/vendor management, product management, operations, finance, marketing/merchandising) to identify and create growth opportunities. They will be able to deliver results at both a strategic and tactical level across all aspects of the business to innovate to achieve long-term growth. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to move on to other leadership roles within Amazon. Key job responsibilities o Earn trust of internal and external stakeholders to set the business up for success. o Own Annual Vendor Negotiations (AVN) for one or more vendors o Execute a seamless customer experience during key sale events including Prime Day, Back to School, Black Friday, Cyber Monday etc. through deals and other event activities. o Take on a high impact project or SME-ship to increase scope and demonstrate leadership across the broader team. o Achieve topline and profitability goals for the category. A day in the life The Vendor Manager will work with internal and external stakeholders to manage inputs that will drive a great customer experience and key business metrics including topline and profitability. This role will require someone who is able to take ownership quickly, dive deep to root cause issues and drive resolution, and deliver results. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $141,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. - Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development
- 5+ years of retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting with negotiations and delivering results experience
