A Gate Automation Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing automated gate systems, barriers, rolling shutters, and smart access control solutions. The role also involves working with related ELV systems such as CCTV and intercoms. Candidates must have a solid foundation in electrical work and hands-on experience in gate automation. Knowledge of CCTV and access control systems is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities: Installation and Setup:
- Install and configure a range of automated gate systems, including:
- Sliding gates
- Swing gates
- Road barriers and bollards
- Rolling shutters
- Glass automatic doors
- Set up control panels, motors, sensors, remote controls, and safety devices.
- Install and configure CCTV cameras, access control systems, and intercoms as needed.
- Perform all electrical wiring, connections, and terminations safely and in line with standards.
- Test and commission systems to ensure proper operation and customer satisfaction.
Maintenance and Repair:
- Conduct preventive maintenance on gate automation equipment and ELV systems to ensure reliability.
- Diagnose and repair faults in motors, control boards, sensors, and electrical circuits.
- Respond promptly to service calls and emergencies to restore system functionality.
- Update programming for remotes and smart access devices as required.
Technical Support & Documentation:
- Provide technical assistance to clients and colleagues regarding gate automation and ELV equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service work performed.
- Prepare service reports and keep documentation current.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety guidelines when working with electrical systems and moving equipment.
- Ensure all installations comply with relevant standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct risk assessments before commencing work.
Skills and Qualifications:Minimum Requirements:
- Proven experience as a gate automation technician, installer, or maintenance technician.
- Solid knowledge of electrical wiring, control circuits, and automation equipment.
- Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot automated gate systems and barriers.
Preferred:
- Experience installing and maintaining CCTV, intercom, and access control systems.
- Familiarity with smart access solutions and integration with automation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and wiring schematics.
Other Skills:

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma, ITI, or vocational certificate in electrical, electronics, or related fields.

- Valid driving license is a strong advantage.
- Willingness to travel to various sites and work flexible hours when required.
Work Environment:
- Field-based role working in residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
- May involve working outdoors in varying conditions, as well as working at heights or in confined spaces.
