We're looking for a talented and versatile UI/UX Hybrid Designer to join our team, focusing specifically on the Discover Phase of our projects. In this critical role, you'll be instrumental in understanding user needs, defining project scope, and laying the foundational design strategy that guides our product development. If you're a curious and empathetic designer who thrives at the intersection of user research, information architecture, and early-stage prototyping, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Lead User Research: Conduct and synthesize qualitative and quantitative user research (e.g., user interviews, surveys, usability testing, competitive analysis) to uncover user behaviors, pain points, and motivations during the initial discovery phase.
- Define User Needs & Business Goals: Translate research insights into clear, actionable user stories, personas, user journeys, and problem statements that align with business objectives.
- Facilitate Discovery Workshops: Plan and lead collaborative workshops with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to define project scope, requirements, and design opportunities.
- Information Architecture & Workflow Design: Develop intuitive information architectures, user flows, and site maps that ensure a logical and user-friendly experience.
- Concept & Wireframe Development: Create low-fidelity wireframes, sketches, and storyboards to visualize early concepts, test hypotheses, and facilitate feedback loops.
- Prototyping for Validation: Develop clickable prototypes (from low to mid-fidelity) to test design concepts and gather early user feedback before significant development.
- Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate research findings, design rationale, and proposed solutions to internal teams and stakeholders, advocating for user-centered design principles.
- Collaboration & Handoff: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other designers to ensure a smooth transition from discovery to design and development phases.
- Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with the latest UI/UX trends, tools, and methodologies, particularly those relevant to early-stage product development and discovery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work in the discovery and early conceptualization phases of projects.
- Expertise in conducting various user research methodologies and translating findings into design insights.
- Strong understanding of information architecture, interaction design principles, and usability best practices.
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Miro).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
- A strong passion for understanding users and solving complex problems through design.
