The Aviation Academic Department at the School of Aviation (SoA) provides comprehensive education and research, preparing students with the essential skills and knowledge for successful careers in the aviation industry, contributing to the advancement and competitiveness of the air transport sector.
As it continues to expand and enhance its aviation education programs, AU invites applications for faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level potentially commencing August 24th, 2025. We seek dynamic scholars with demonstrated expertise in disciplines relevant to aviation and air transport management, including but not limited to Airport Operations & Management, Airline Management, Ground Handling and Air Cargo Operations, Air Traffic and Airspace Management, as well as other related fields.
Brief Description of Duties:
- Develop and deliver high-quality courses related to the Aviation and Air Transport Management, Airline Management, Airport Operations & Management, Aviation Business Administration.
- Contribute to curriculum development by designing engaging and comprehensive lesson plans that promote effective learning.
- Offer guidance and mentorship to students in their assignments, projects, and final assessments.
- Actively participate in research activities within the field of aviation.
- Seek research grants and funding opportunities to support research initiatives.
- Collaborate in departmental administrative duties as required to foster the department's goals and objectives.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Ph.D. in the subjects related to Aviation management, Airport Operations and Management, Air Traffic and Space Management Aviation Business Administration, Air transport Economy, Aviation Engineering, Aerospace, or a closely related field. We encourage applications from candidates with diverse academic backgrounds whose research and professional experience align with above mentioned subjects.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Airport Operations and Management or a relevant field.
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills in the English Language; and
- The ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Highly Preferred Criteria:
- Significant teaching experience and proficiency in delivering relevant courses
- Training and assessment qualifications appropriate to the position.
- Be willing and able to engage in curriculum development.
