Job Title: Assistant/Associate Professor in Physiotherapy and Coordinator of the Bachelor of Physiotherapy Program
Job Summary:
Ajman University invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor and Program Coordinator for the newly established Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) program in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. In addition to the typical faculty responsibilities (i.e. Teaching, Research and Service), the successful candidate will support the strategic management and operational delivery of the academic program by coordinating curriculum implementation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing the overall student experience. In this role the successful candidate will act as a liaison between program and the University Offices to foster excellence and growth of the BPT program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track student progress, identify at-risk individuals early, and implement support measures.
- Ensure alignment of course content and outcomes with internal quality standards, UAE Ministry of Education regulations, and international accreditation bodies.
- Coordinate teaching assignments and manage faculty workload within the program.
- Monitor and ensure the quality of teaching, learning, assessment, and student outcomes.
- Advise and support students on academic matters, clinical placements, and career development.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and other clinical training sites.
- Promote research and scholarly activity within the program.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, and development of qualified faculty.
- Represent the program at college and university-level committees and meetings.
- Conduct high quality research in his/her own field and publish research outcomes in reputable journals and conferences.
Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD or equivalent terminal degree in Physiotherapy from a well-reputed accredited institution.
- 2–4 years of experience in academic or program coordination within higher education with outstanding teaching record
- Outstanding research and publications record in top journals.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience in curriculum development, accreditation processes, and program management.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary trends in physiotherapy education and clinical training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with national and international accreditation systems
- Clinical experience and active licensure in physiotherapy.
- Familiarity with digital learning platforms and innovative teaching methodologies.
