About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Middle East - Africa, International Business Development, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and qualifying new international business opportunities across Middle East and Africa focus countries focused initially on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, evaluating the viability of such opportunities, shaping customer requirements and directly supporting Rotary and Mission Systems’ Line of Business capture activities while managing international customer relationships within the region. It is necessary for the individual to understand, articulate and support our regional and global strategies as well as support strategy development for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the region.
Develop country and regional business development plans that sustain current programs and develop growth opportunities across the RMS portfolio. Shape the international strategy for Rotary and Mission Systems and coordinate across multiple Business Areas / functions within the corporation, including but not limited to Global Business Development, Lockheed Martin Business areas (Aero, Missiles & Fire Control, Space), Program Management, Operations, Finance, etc. The preferred location is Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The role will require a high degree of flexibility and the ability to travel worldwide without restriction.

- Develop and promote strong relations with internal and external customers.
- Interpret international customers' needs and requirements and relate them back to strategy and programmatic processes.
- Participate in financial planning and have the ability to contribute to decisions that impact the company and customers.
Required skills, qualifications and experience
- 10-15+ years of business development and/or operational experience with the armed forces of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Strong technical and operational experience and understanding of Combat Weapon Systems, Command and Control, and/or land sensors for priority missions including Integrated Air and Missile Defence (IAMD).
- Understanding of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Government structures and acquisition processes to include Ministry of Defence (MOD), General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), and main component services in each country.
- General understanding of US military strategy and policy in the Middle East and North Africa regions and pertinent organizations such as the GCC.
- Must be self-motivated and able to operate with minimal guidance and succeed in a highly competitive arena.
- Fluent Arabic and strong English language oral and written skills.
Desired skills
- Demonstrates high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and deal with top level customers, company and other personnel.
- Knowledge of rotary wing market, Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Direct Commercial Sales contracting and FMS process with USG organizations.
- Experience working with the US Embassies and military commands across the region.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to clearly articulate strategies at multiple levels of business and government.
- Understanding of Middle East and North Africa region cultures.
- Experience working with Middle East and/or North Africa regional consultants and trading companies.
- Avid learner – strong desire to understand the entire portfolio within RMS and the Lockheed Martin Enterprise.
