About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Consultant for GitHub Copilot Adoption to lead the implementation, adoption, and effectiveness of GitHub Copilot within our development teams. This role is pivotal in ensuring our organization leverages AI-powered coding to enhance developer productivity, code quality, and overall delivery efficiency.
You will work closely with development leads, software engineers, and project managers to provide training, define adoption strategies, establish measurable success metrics, and ensure a tangible productivity boost from Copilot usage.

Key Responsibilities
Copilot Adoption Strategy & Planning
- Assess current development workflows and identify key areas for Copilot integration.
- Define a comprehensive rollout strategy for GitHub Copilot across teams.
- Create team-specific enablement plans based on technology stacks (.NET, Angular, Ionic).
Training & Enablement
- Conduct hands-on workshops, walkthroughs, and tutorials for development teams.
- Provide real-world examples, use cases, and best practices tailored to our tech stack.
- Create onboarding documentation, coding standards, and guidelines for using Copilot effectively and responsibly.
Performance Measurement & Metrics
- Define measurable objectives for Copilot adoption (e.g., reduced coding time, improved feature throughput, code review efficiency).
- Set up mechanisms to track productivity metrics pre- and post-adoption.
- Analyze results and present regular reports on usage impact, adoption progress, and ROI.
Continuous Support & Feedback Loop
- Provide ongoing support to development teams via office hours, Slack/Teams Q&A, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Collect feedback from users to refine training and improve Copilot integration strategies.
- Stay current on GitHub Copilot updates and share relevant enhancements with the team.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot, using it extensively in real-world projects.
- Proven expertise in .NET (C#), Angular, and Ionic development environments.
- Deep understanding of software development lifecycles and agile methodologies.
- Experience in delivering technical training or coaching to software development teams.
- Strong analytical skills for defining KPIs and measuring productivity outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills – able to present complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work collaboratively with developers, team leads, and product managers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GitHub Enterprise or managing team-wide DevOps tool adoption.
- Familiarity with other AI coding tools (e.g., Amazon CodeWhisperer, TabNine) for comparison.
- Background in software architecture or tech leadership roles.
Success Criteria
- At least 80% of target developers actively using GitHub Copilot after training.
- Measurable improvement in coding productivity (e.g., 20–30% reduction in development time).
- High team satisfaction with Copilot training and support (as measured via feedback surveys).
- Institutionalization of Copilot best practices in the development process.
