About the Company
Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country's crude oil production and natural gas supply.
Purpose of the Job
Contracts: To support the enhancement of the Contractor Holers competencies to manage the strategic execution of the assigned contracts categories (pre-and post award), to meet PDO’s Project Deliver KPIs within budget whilst maintaining company HSE, technical, quality, operational and commercial standards
People: Assist Contract Holder team lead in creating a meaningful work for staff to efficient allocation of talent right level and type of work, while fostering a learning environment to develop multi-skilled staff
Education & Experience
i. Bachelor's degree in engineering or supply chain management or procurement or equivalent
ii. Minimum 12 years of experience in service contracts management, contract leadership role, experience on evaluating and managing strategic contracts and managing relationship with key stakeholders
iv. Able to coach senior contract holders and Company representatives
vi. Excellent computer skills, and extensive experience in project planning and procurement.
vii. Full understanding of financial and contracting processes and procedures.
ix. Thorough understanding of the risks and the technical/commercial issues associated with the contracts
x. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
xi. Team player, acting as a champion to break new grounds and self-motivated.
xii. Natural communicator, coordinator and problem solver.

Main Responsibilities
- Coaching and Mentoring
- Provide one-on-one and group coaching sessions to contract holders, focusing on advanced contract management strategies, negotiation tactics, and risk mitigation.
- Mentor less experienced contract holders to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Develop and deliver training programs and workshops tailored to varying levels of expertise.
- Contract Management Expertise
- Review, analyze, and provide feedback on complex contracts to ensure clarity, compliance, and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Advise on best practices for drafting, reviewing, and amending contracts.
- Collaborate with legal, procurement, and other relevant departments to address complex contractual issues.
- Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure contract holders comply with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with contractual agreements.
- Monitor changes in regulations and industry standards to update contract management practices.
- Process Improvement
- Evaluate current contract management processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop templates, guidelines, and tools to streamline contract management.
- Implement systems to track and monitor contract performance and compliance.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a liaison between contract holders and internal/external stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships to facilitate collaboration and understanding of contractual obligations.

Address escalated issues and disputes, ensuring resolution aligns with organizational goals.
