Job Description
Introduction
Aga Khan University chartered in 1983 as Pakistan's first private international university, is committed to the provision of education, research, and health care of international standards relevant to Pakistan and the region. The affiliated Aga Khan University Hospital provides state-of-the-art clinical facilities and well-equipped diagnostic services. The University currently has teaching sites in Pakistan, East Africa, the United Kingdom, and Afghanistan, and is a major component of Aga Khan Development Network.
The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

This is a grant-funded contractual position.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- data collector accompany research staff in field visits;
- the person will be responsible to visit door to door to identify project related enrollments;
- contact the parents and explain the purpose of the study;
- arrange and coordinate study center visits;
- counsel the mother for the study participation;
- any other logistic support that may be needed for the project;
- breastfeeding counselling of the mother.
Requirements
You should have:
- At least Matric and above;
- 1-2 years’ experience in community-based projects;
- maternal and child health-related project experience is mandatory;
- breastfeeding project experience is highly desirable;
- ability to give oral instructions/information to patients and parents in colloquial English and/or Urdu;
- effective communication skills;
- demonstrating professional integrity;
- mature, reliable and responsible;
- able to understand and follow instruction;
- ability to speak and understand Urdu and local languages;
- may handle Android based tablets.
