Role Overview

As the Data Director, you will be instrumental in shaping Contango’s data strategy, ensuring alignment with our organizational goals. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage complex data projects, and provide consulting expertise to deliver actionable insights and transformative business outcomes. This role demands a strategic leader with a deep understanding of data ecosystems, governance, and analytics, coupled with hands-on consulting experience.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• • Develop and execute Contango’s data strategy in alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Establish and drive data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Data Ecosystem Management

• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable data platforms and architectures.
• Drive innovation in data engineering, analytics, and AI/ML solutions to enhance business capabilities.

Team Leadership

• Build and lead a high-performing team of data professionals, including analysts, engineers, and scientists.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.

Consulting and Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as a trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders, translating complex data insights into actionable recommendations.
• Lead consulting engagements, ensuring the delivery of high-value data solutions to meet business needs.

Project Management

• Manage end-to-end delivery of complex data projects, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business goals.
• Optimize resources and budgets to maximize ROI on data initiatives.

Experience:

• • Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in data strategy, management, and consulting.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful data projects in complex organizational environments.
  • Experience within top-tier consulting firms or similar roles in technology or data-driven industries is preferred.

Education:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field. Advanced certifications in data or AI are a plus.

Technical Expertise:

• Strong knowledge of data governance, architecture, and analytics platforms (e.g., Collibra, Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI).
• Familiarity with advanced AI/ML tools and methodologies.

Leadership Skills:

• Exceptional ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams.
• Strong consulting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
