Job Description:
Qualification & Experience:
Essential:
MSc / MS (Engineering/Sciences) from HEC recongnized institute having minimum 3 years of experience in relevant field after MSc/MS.
Desireable:
PhD in Engineering/Science from HEC recognized institute having 5 years and above experience in relevant field.
Key Responsibilites:
- Responsible for formulation of policies and standard operating procedure (SOPs) related to research publications as well as their implementation.
- Responsible for research publications database development (NUST Research Portal), scrutiny, workflow management, and report generation.
- Responsible for processing of cases related to the following:
- Sponsorship of research paper presentation visits in foreign conferences and reimbursing the funds through external agencies (HEC, PSF, PAS etc).
- Sponsorship of research paper publication charges for journals.
- Sponsorship of research conference registration fees.
- Financial award for paper publication in journals.
- Editor honorarium for publication of NUST journal issues.
- Certificate of verification of faculty and PhD student publications.
- Plagiarism complaints and queries.
- Recommending hiring of adjunct faculty.
- Supervision of NUST own journals including strategy, web presence, processing of cases, and indexing with national and international bodies.
- Liaising with external agencies (HEC, PSF, PAS, etc.) and attending their various events to stay abreast with latest developments occurring in and outside Pakistan.
- Administrator for anti-plagirism software (Turnitin).
- Liaise with various directorates and offices within NUST for research publications related matters.
- Responsible for formulating the Research Dte and CIE Recurring Budget.
- Formulating strategies for increasing online visibility of publications, projects, patents, and innovations on social media (NUST R&I Twitter Account).
- Blog writing and maintenance of Research and Innovation Blog website.
- Any other duties assigned by the Director (Research) / Senior Management
Knowlege/Skills/Abilities:
Essential:
- Familiarization with current scientific and technological development.
- Have authored peer reviewed scientific publication in impact factor journals.
- Well conversant with modern computer skills & applications expertise.
- Strong comprehension ability and technical writing skills.
Desirable:
- High level communication and presentation capacity
- Powerful in writing and communication skills.
- Policy making skills in Science & Technology.
Terms & Conditions:
- Candidates are required to attach scanned copies of their documents (Academics / Professional).
- Last education certificate/degree must be attested/verified by HEC.
Candidates may be considered ineligible for the post due to any of the following reasons:
- 3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile.
- NUST employees with less than one year of service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution.
- In process of pursuing a required degree.
- Medically unfit.
- Only selected candidates will be contacted and issued offer letter.
- Candidates serving in Govt departments, Armed forces may apply through their respective parent department / organizations. Late / incomplete applications will be ignored. Only short-listed candidates will be considered / called for test / interview and no TA / DA will be admissible.
