ROLE PURPOSE:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Draftsman to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and clear electrical drawings and layouts using computer-aided design (CAD) software, collaborating with engineers and project teams to ensure the designs meet technical standards and project requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Produce detailed technical drawings and diagrams related to the installation and repair of electrical equipment and wiring systems for various projects.
• Develop specifications and provide clear installation instructions for voltage transformers, cables, switchgear, and associated electrical systems.
• Convert conceptual designs into detailed plans using CAD software and other drafting tools.
• Create accurate two-dimensional and three-dimensional renderings of project designs.
• Design, revise, and update wiring plans, layout diagrams, and schematics based on input from engineers and project teams.
• Adhere to project schedules and ensure all drawings meet project specifications and formatting standards.
• Visit project or installation sites to gather data, perform field measurements, and prepare rough sketches as needed.
• Coordinate with internal departments including engineering, construction, and procurement to facilitate successful project execution.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior draftsmen and support staff.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or project lead.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or certification in CAD drafting (Electrical discipline preferred).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical drafting, preferably in construction or industrial projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD with comprehensive knowledge of tools, commands, and advanced drafting options.
• Skilled in creating detailed technical drawings with a strong understanding of electrical systems and standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant design/drafting software.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
