Role description
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end architecture, implementation, and support of enterprise desktop solutions.
Design and deliver robust desktop infrastructure, including proof-of-concept builds, high-level (HLD) and low-level design (LLD) documentation.
Own and maintain a production-grade Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environment, incorporating Windows 365 and Citrix for power users.
Serve as the technical authority for on-premises Citrix VDI, and lead its migration to Citrix Cloud.
Design and implement Windows 11 hybrid-joined builds, leveraging Intune for device management.
Build and manage Azure AD-joined, Intune-managed Windows 10 deployments using Autopilot.
Automate complex desktop provisioning tasks via PowerShell, including:
Virtual desktop provisioning and cluster allocation.
Identification and decommissioning of inactive virtual desktops.
CPU right-sizing based on VMware usage analytics.
Streamlined AVD deployment workflows.
Act as the final point of escalation for the desktop engineering team.
Collaborate closely with Information Security to align solutions with compliance and cybersecurity standards.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated experience as a Desktop Architect or senior-level engineer in large-scale enterprise environments.
Deep expertise in:
Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Windows 365
Citrix VDI architecture and cloud migration
Windows 10/11 deployments and hybrid-join configurations
Microsoft Intune, Azure AD, and Autopilot
PowerShell scripting for automation and process optimization
Strong proficiency in developing HLD/LLD documentation.
Solid understanding of VMware infrastructure as it relates to desktop virtualization.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to lead complex issue resolution.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant Microsoft and Citrix certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, Citrix Certified Expert) are highly desirable.
Experience with security and compliance frameworks in enterprise desktop environments.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive projects to successful completion.
