Job Description

Job Description

  • Establish OTB and Buy plan in co-ordination with the B&M Manager
  • Establish pre-season sales and margin plans, together with the inventory levels required to support them
  • Analyze multiple seasons of historical performance to establish trends and opportunities
  • Develop detail plans from departmental goals that leverage opportunities and ensure that product strategies are achievable
  • Partner with merchandiser and store team to balance inventory and assortment across the stores
  • Responsible for product selection and assortment decisions
  • Responsible for setting product pricing through margin analysis and competitive market research
  • Responsible for tracking and tracing shipments from order to shipment to receipt
  • Communicate over/under bought situations and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Managing Inventory, creating inventory balance of old and new stock in the system
  • Special intervention for bad styles, Taking action to manage category margins
  • Developing SALE pricing strategy in co-ordination with the merchandise manager
  • Evaluate, analyze and report on product and assortment matrix at store and brand level
  • Develop range preview material for the store and VM team for each launch of the product/season
  • Create effective product training presentations and material to help train store and operations staff on product
  • Co-ordinate with product teams of the principle to effectively manage the range development and special needs of the store
  • Co-ordinate with the store teams on a regular basis to ensure weekly and monthly product and merchandising objectives are achieved
  • Create ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required to communicate issues and solutions to the management team
  • Develop season launch calendar and task list for effective implementation of season change
  • Develop distribution and category plans for the sale launch and effectively co-coordinating with the store teams to achieve the brand objectives
  • Implement effective and profitable assortment plan for the Discount sales to maximize sales and optimize margin delivery
  • Collaborate with the Warehouse and supply chain team to ensure the established process in the system are optimized

  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel,
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail,
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and recognize and react to changing work demands,
  • Proven ability to manage projects independently and to work as part of a team,
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment,
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Excellent time management/project skills
  • Confident in making effective autonomous (and group) decisions in a timely manner
  • Goal-orientated with strong ability to stay focused
  • Strong understanding of merchandising financials and ability to manage profitability
  • Experience in retail buying is an added advantage
