Job Overview

American International University (AIU) – Kuwait City is seeking a Full-Time Faculty Member in Biotechnology for the 2025–2026 academic year, to join the School of Arts & Sciences.

The ideal candidate is a student-centered educator with the ability to teach both introductory and advanced courses in Biology and Biotechnology. The candidate should be innovative in instructional approaches, experienced with classroom and online teaching modalities, and adept at integrating industry-relevant tools and trends into the learning environment. A commitment to research, curriculum development, and service to the school and university is also expected.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in Biology and Biotechnology
• Deliver instruction across multiple modalities (in-person, hybrid, online) using appropriate instructional technologies and LMS platforms
• Supervise and mentor students in academic and research projects
• Contribute to curriculum development and program assessment
• Participate in university service, including committees and academic advising
• Engage in research and scholarly activities in the candidate’s field of expertise
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment, especially for English language learners

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Biology, Biotechnology, or a closely related field (Ph.D. preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of university teaching experience (preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of industry or professional experience in Biology or a related field (preferred)
• Strong communication skills in English (instruction is in English)
• Experience teaching diverse student populations, including English language learners
• Proficiency in instructional technology and learning management systems
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence, mentoring, and collaborative academic environments
• Experience with program assessment and outcomes-based education is highly desirable
