Job Description

PRIMARY JOB PURPOSE

  • In this role you will be responsible for the execution of the firm’s Marketing strategy across the MENA region, managing a team of various marketing specialists and will work closely with the partners of the firm, as well as senior management.
  • The focus of this role is to support the firm and its stakeholders from our HQ in Dubai, with their ambitious growth plans, identifying creative marketing campaigns and activities across the different markets with the aim to improve our overall brand recognition and market profile and reputation.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

General

  • Develop an actionable marketing strategy and action plan, which is in line with the firm’s strategy and business plans.
  • Communicating with partners, directors and other departments to ensure that all parties are aware of current marketing projects and future plans.
  • Responsibility for the successful execution of said plans with clear KPIs and other measures for success.
  • Analyse and understand market demand, industry trends and client needs.
  • Work with key stakeholders on securing strategic partnership for joint opportunities (such as events with the Ministries).
  • Develop marketing materials, such as brochures, capability statements that promote the firm’s services.

Brand management

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of a strong brand presence.
  • Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all channels and communication materials.
  • Propose new ideas for brand awareness campaigns across the region to promote the wider firm.

Digital marketing

  • Develop a progressive digital marketing strategy in collaboration with the Digital Marketing Manager.
  • Lead digital marketing initiatives including social media, SEO. Email campaigns and online advertising (where applicable)
  • Take responsibility over monitoring of online presence and engagement and increasing metrics as well as ensuring growth of our digital footprint across different channels more broadly.

Content development

  • Work closely together with key stakeholders in the firm to create engaging content across the firm’s various online channels.
  • Manage the creation of thought leadership articles, blog posts and other content to showcase the firm’s expertise.

Event management

  • In close collaboration with the Event Manager, create, plan and execute successful events, seminars and webinars to promote the firm’s services and engage with clients.
  • Represent the firm at industry conferences and networking events.
  • Take responsibility over some of the firm’s flagship events such as Arab Lawyers Forum (ALF), Family Business Symposium, Partner’s Retreat and Higher Education Conference (HEC).

Communication and PR

  • Working closely with the committee, take responsibility over the firm’s flagship publication “Law Update”.
  • Working closely with the PR & Communications Manager to ensure PR activity in the market and turn general updates into interesting and newsworthy market updates.
  • Maintain strong relationships with media outlets in the MENA region as well as the key legal media globally.
  • Work closely with our Projects Manager on the execution of the next thought leadership flagship publication due for publishing in 2024: Legal Leaders.
  • Working closely with the firm’s PR & Communications Manager, Manage crisis communications and handle media enquiries.
  • Update general firm copy on a pro-active basis.

Budget management

  • Working closely with the BD & Marketing Director, ensure marketing budget is being managed efficiently, ensuring cost-effective strategies and measurable ROI.

Team management

Manage, lead and inspire a team consisting of:

  • PR & Communications Manager
  • Clients Communications Advisor
  • Creative Brand Manager
  • Senior Designer
  • Designer
  • Regional Marketing Manager
  • Digital Marketing Manager
  • Events Manager

REQUIREMENTS + PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree and preferably a master’s degree in business administration or marketing, marketing strategy, business management, economics, finance, statistics, or accounting.
  • Proven track record in (professional services) marketing and ideally also in client management and business development.
  • Commercial, results-driven mind-set.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills.
  • Analytical and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Problem solver with ability to think end-to-end, be proactive, creative and a quick learner.
  • Effective influencing skills.
  • Team player as well as independent thinker.
  • Proven management skills of effectively managing a team of no less than two people.
  • Flexibility in working hours and travelling.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a managerial role.
  • High level of proficiency in all basic MS suite products, e.g. Powerpoint, Word, Excel.
  • Experience in law firms or professional services firms an advantage but not a necessity.
