The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department. This role involves supervising and leading a team of housekeeping staff to ensure the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall appearance of guest rooms, public areas, and hotel facilities meet the highest standards. The Housekeeping Supervisor will work closely with the Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping Manager to implement and maintain housekeeping policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise housekeeping attendants, room cleaners, and other housekeeping staff.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring proper work schedules.
- Monitor and inspect work performance to ensure standards of cleanliness and efficiency are met.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to housekeeping team members.
- Address employee concerns and assist with resolving conflicts within the team.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness and order.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Ensure that all areas are well-maintained and in accordance with the property’s standards.
- Oversee deep cleaning projects as scheduled, including carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, and other specialty tasks.
- Ensure that rooms are cleaned and prepared in a timely manner for guest arrivals.
- Address and resolve guest complaints regarding cleanliness or housekeeping issues.
- Promote a positive relationship with guests by maintaining high standards of service and attention to detail.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linen, and guest amenities.
- Ensure that supplies are used efficiently and within budget, placing orders for replacements as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory and supplies usage.
- Ensure that all housekeeping activities comply with health and safety standards.
- Implement and follow safe cleaning practices, proper use of chemicals, and equipment.
- Ensure that the housekeeping staff is trained on safety procedures, including handling hazardous materials.
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards to the appropriate department for resolution.
- Assist in the preparation of housekeeping reports, such as room status reports, guest satisfaction reports, and inventory reports.
- Track employee attendance and assist in scheduling shifts.
- Assist with the hiring and onboarding of new housekeeping staff.
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., Front Desk, Maintenance) to ensure smooth operations and prompt responses to guest requests or maintenance issues.
- Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in hospitality management or housekeeping preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of housekeeping experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, property management software)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
