Job Description
  • Performs tests on wash formulas and fabrics that would assist in choosing the most appropriate suppliers for laundry chemicals, linen, curtains, drapes, and other items used by the Hotel
  • Coordinates the daily operation against the linen requirements of the Hotel’s outlets, guests’ and executives’ articles and outside Contracts
  • Implement operational and administrative instructions from Superiors, monitor its implementations and do the needed follow-up when required, to make sure that every policy and procedures and the highest quality of services are followed and delivery deadlines are meet
  • Training of new staff on the assigned areas and conduct re-training/refreshers in order to maintain awareness of all the staff on its function and responsibilities
  • Checks and maintain regularly the established quality standard of all items/articles processed and ensure it is always strictly observed at all the time
  • Prepares a daily checklist and operation reports and submit to the Director Laundry at the end of the working day
  • Prepares a monthly duty roster and shifting of staff as necessary, with the approval of the Director of Laundry
  • Checks/monitor the running conditions of all the machinery and equipment and initiates maintenance request/orders as required and follows up with the Maintenance Department whenever necessary
  • Takes note of any operational problem, equipment breakdowns, unusual activities and other notable situations and make necessary corrective measure or reports to the Director of Laundry for proper action
  • Ensures that the necessary chemicals and other supplies used in the operation are in stock level and available at all times. Initiates requisition whenever necessary
  • Ensures that safety and security measures of the whole department and staff are strictly observed
  • Maintains discipline of staff at all times
  • Takes charge of the Department’s operation in the absence of the Director of Laundry
  • Ensures cleanliness and orderliness of the whole Department at all times
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve overall objectives of this position
  • To understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health & Safety
  • To ensure that all potential and real hazards are reported and rectified immediately
  • To understand and strictly adhere to the Hotel’s Employee rules & regulations
  • To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag at all times
  • Performs any other duties as assigned to him/her by management
