
Role Purpose:
Roles at this level are involved in applying trade skills to the planned maintenance and repair of Company plant, equipment, and vehicles. They work with limited supervision but have access to advice and guidance if needed. They are responsible for completing work according to allocated timeframes and to high craft standards and are expected to have developed an awareness of “downtime” implications. They also have a responsibility to increase their skill and capability levels through on-the-job training opportunities.
Key Accountabilities:
Routine & Non-Routine Tasks:
∙ Undertakes routine and non-routine planned maintenance and repair activities, ensuring compliance with craft standards and timely completion, in order to minimize interruptions to operational activities. And non-operational activities such as but not limited to;- (plumping works, sewage, steel structure, roof, equipment painting, door maintenance, heating system, firefighting system, worm water, and welding works).
Troubleshooting:
∙ Identifies first level problems and applies basic troubleshooting techniques to achieve resolution. Escalates problems beyond own capability for more detailed attention.
Spares & Consumables:
∙ Proposes work schedule in order to determine the spare parts and consumables necessary to complete allocated tasks.
Activity Reporting:
∙ Provides feedback on work undertaken, both verbally and by completion of worksheets, to facilitate the monitoring of work progress and highlight areas of concern.
Tool & Equipment Maintenance:
∙ Maintains tools and equipment in optimum condition to prevent unnecessary interruptions to work programs and protect the value of Company assets.
Safety & Housekeeping:
∙ Ensures that the workplace is kept in a clean state and that all work is carried out in full compliance with approved occupational. Health and safety procedures.
Appearance and Image:
∙ Keeps self-well-presented through taking pride in the company uniform and observing personal hygiene standards and behaviors that enhance the company image.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge:
- Vocational Training Diploma or high school.
- Satisfactory completion of a minimum 12 months at level 1
- English language skills at Level 2
- Good knowledge and understanding of plant, equipment, and procedures in own area.
- Good knowledge of operating and safety procedures and standards.
- Problem solving skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Customer focus.
