Job Title: Medical Transcriptionist – RadiologyJob Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Radiology Medical Transcriptionist to join our healthcare documentation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately transcribing audio recordings from radiologists into well-formatted, timely medical reports. This role requires a strong understanding of radiology terminology, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transcribe dictated radiology reports including X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds, and nuclear medicine studies.
• Edit and proofread transcribed reports for accuracy, grammar, and consistency.
• Ensure proper use of radiologic medical terminology, abbreviations, and formatting guidelines.
• Verify patient and physician details for accuracy and confidentiality.
• Meet daily production quotas and turnaround time standards.
• Communicate with radiologists or supervisors to clarify dictations as needed.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies.
• Work collaboratively with other transcriptionists and radiology staff.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; certification in medical transcription or healthcare documentation preferred.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in radiology transcription or equivalent healthcare documentation role.
• Proficient knowledge of radiology terminology, anatomy, and diagnostic procedures.
• Excellent listening and typing skills with high accuracy and speed.
• Familiarity with speech recognition software and transcription platforms (e.g., eScription, Powerscribe, Dolbey, etc.).
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple reports efficiently.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality practices.

Preferred Skills:

• Certification from AHDI (Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity) is a plus.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
