Occupational Health Support
NSA Bahrain

The Occupational Health Support assists the United States Marine Corps Forces, Central Command (MARCENT) and subordinate commands by serving within the 5th MEB task area. The position’s primary mission involves assisting in the conduct of tactical level command and control of Marine Corps forces within CENTCOM’s AOR in Bahrain. The Occupational Health Support directly conducts planning in support of contingencies, exercises, and executes Naval Integration actions, including safety management assistance and regulations to ensure the efficient execution of MARCENT OAMS tasks both within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS). The Occupational Health Support will perform the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide safety management assistance by monitoring the overall Occupational Health Management administration program for Commanding General, 5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade.
  • Provide guidance on Safety and Occupational Health issues throughout the command. Responsibilities include safety inspections, surveys; maintain appropriate files; verify safety, and facilities requirements; ensure all supporting administrative tasks are completed in accordance with safety and occupational health regulations and mandates (includes reports generations and distribution); and provide safety training and awareness.
  • Provide technical assistance and advice to manager and command staff on safety and occupational hazards, including preparing various reports and making recommendations to management on decisions regarding the overall safety program.
  • Receive technical guidance and direction from the MARCENT Safety Manager (located in Tampa).
EDUCATION
  • HS diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum ten years of military experience.
  • Experience in safety management and occupational health, particularly within a military or defense context, supporting large commands or units.
  • Experience in managing and administering occupational health programs, including conducting safety inspections, surveys, and maintaining regulatory compliance.
CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Expertise in safety management and occupational health regulations, including experience with safety inspections, surveys, and compliance verification.
  • Expertise in advising on safety and occupational hazards, with the capability to provide actionable recommendations to management and command staff.
  • Advanced proficiency with groupware applications (SharePoint, MS Teams) and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.) desired.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills desired.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS
  • Travel is required.
  • Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company’s auto insurance provider.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
  • A Secret clearance is required for this position.
