Department: Network Operations Center (NOC) & VOIP

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Operations Manager – NOC SMS to oversee and manage the daily operations of our Network Operations Center focused on SMS traffic. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining high service levels, ensuring efficient routing, monitoring system health, coordinating with partners, and leading a technical team. This role is critical for maintaining SMS delivery quality, minimizing downtime, and optimizing operational performance in a fast-paced telecom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee 24/7 SMS operations within the NOC, ensuring service continuity and SLA adherence.
  • Manage and monitor global SMS traffic routes and delivery reports.
  • Coordinate with technical and business teams for routing adjustments, troubleshooting, and partner escalations.
  • Ensure the smooth functioning of SMS platforms, including monitoring alerts, performance metrics, and system logs.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues, outages, and performance bottlenecks proactively.
  • Generate and analyze daily/weekly/monthly traffic and performance reports.
  • Supervise a team of NOC engineers, schedule shifts, and manage team KPIs.
  • Liaise with international SMS vendors and operators for route testing, troubleshooting, and quality improvements.
  • Implement and maintain best practices in NOC operations for SMS services.
  • Collaborate with compliance and security teams to ensure data privacy and regulatory requirements are met.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in telecom operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial or team lead role.
  • Strong understanding of SMS traffic, SMPP protocol, routing principles, and telecom infrastructure.
  • Experience working with SMS gateways, monitoring tools, and ticketing systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage teams under pressure and in rotating shifts.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with international A2P/P2P SMS platforms.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as a SMSC, Zabbix, Nagios, or similar.
