Job Purpose:

The Procurement Officer will manage and streamline the procurement processes by integrating digital tools, technologies, and systems. This position aims to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and drive continuous improvements in procurement through automation and data analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement Process Optimization:

o Analyze current procurement workflows and identify areas for process improvement through the use of digital tools.

o Automate routine procurement functions such as vendor selection, purchase order management, and invoice processing to reduce manual efforts and improve accuracy.

o Monitor and evaluate the performance of digital procurement systems and recommend improvements.

2. Supplier Management:

o Maintain and develop relationships with key suppliers, leveraging digital platforms to enhance communication and collaboration.

o Monitor supplier performance through digital tools to ensure quality and compliance with contract terms.

o Use digital platforms to evaluate supplier risk and optimize supplier selection based on data-driven insights.

3. Data Analytics and Reporting:

o Leverage data analytics tools to track procurement metrics, monitor spending trends, and generate reports for senior management.

o Provide actionable insights into procurement data to support strategic decision-making.

o Ensure that procurement data is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible.

4. Compliance and Risk Management:

o Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.

o Use digital tools to monitor and mitigate procurement risks.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field(banking,telecom etc). Experience in digital procurement tools and systems is highly preferred.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in procurement software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, e-sourcing platforms, and data analytics tools.

• Knowledge of Procurement Processes: Understanding of procurement strategies, supplier management, and contract negotiation.

• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external suppliers.

• Project Management: Experience managing cross-functional projects, especially related to digital transformation or system implementation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with advanced technologies like AI, blockchain, and IoT as they relate to procurement.

• Knowledge of sustainability and ethical sourcing practices.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Reduction in procurement cycle time due to digital tools.

• Cost savings through digital process improvements.

• Supplier performance improvement based on digital tracking.

• System up time and reliability of digital procurement tools.

• User adoption rate of digital procurement platforms.
