Job Description
Job Summary:
The Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, presentation, and overall appearance of guest rooms and public areas in line with the hotel’s standards. This role plays a key part in ensuring a positive guest experience by providing a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and service guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas according to established standards.
- Change bed linens, replace towels, and replenish guest amenities.
- Vacuum carpets, dust furniture, and wipe down surfaces.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
- Ensure all rooms are checked and ready for guest arrival within the designated timeframe.
- Handle guest requests promptly and with a professional and friendly attitude.
- Maintain housekeeping carts, storage areas, and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and hygiene policies and procedures.
- Respect guest privacy and adhere to “do not disturb” signs and room status instructions.
- Work collaboratively with other housekeeping staff and hotel departments to ensure seamless service.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is an asset but not required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift, push, and pull items as needed.
- Flexible to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
