Job Description

Job Summary:
The Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, presentation, and overall appearance of guest rooms and public areas in line with the hotel’s standards. This role plays a key part in ensuring a positive guest experience by providing a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and service guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas according to established standards.
  • Change bed linens, replace towels, and replenish guest amenities.
  • Vacuum carpets, dust furniture, and wipe down surfaces.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
  • Ensure all rooms are checked and ready for guest arrival within the designated timeframe.
  • Handle guest requests promptly and with a professional and friendly attitude.
  • Maintain housekeeping carts, storage areas, and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and hygiene policies and procedures.
  • Respect guest privacy and adhere to “do not disturb” signs and room status instructions.
  • Work collaboratively with other housekeeping staff and hotel departments to ensure seamless service.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is an asset but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift, push, and pull items as needed.
  • Flexible to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
