Sales Manager (Hotel Experience)

Job Description
The Sales Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive hotel revenue and sales. This role requires building relationships with clients, generating leads, and managing group bookings, corporate accounts, and event sales. The Sales Manager will also monitor market trends and competitor activity, and work closely with other departments to ensure guest satisfaction and maximize profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales and Business Development:
- Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to meet or exceed hotel revenue targets.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and lead generation.
- Manage and grow existing corporate accounts, group bookings, and travel agency relationships.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, including meeting planners, event organizers, and business travelers.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify market opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Provide exceptional customer service by building strong relationships with both new and existing clients.
- Work with clients to understand their needs, budget, and expectations, and offer tailored solutions.
- Respond to inquiries and lead requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Address and resolve any client concerns or complaints regarding sales, bookings, and services.
- Event and Meeting Sales:
- Sell hotel event space, including meeting rooms, banquets, and conferences.
- Coordinate with event planners, clients, and internal teams to ensure successful event execution.
- Provide clients with accurate information regarding space availability, pricing, and catering options.
- Conduct site tours and presentations to promote hotel facilities and services.
- Sales Reporting and Performance:
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, client interactions, and booking information using the hotel’s CRM system.
- Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitor analysis.
- Monitor and analyze sales metrics to identify areas for improvement and growth.
- Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with the marketing team to create promotional materials, special offers, and campaigns.
- Collaborate with the front desk, operations, and food & beverage departments to ensure seamless guest experiences and service delivery.
- Participate in regular sales and management meetings to discuss strategy, goals, and performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 15 years of sales experience in the hotel or hospitality industry.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and driving revenue growth.
- Strong knowledge of hotel operations, including booking systems, guest services, and event management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Opera).
- Ability to travel locally and nationally as needed for client meetings and industry events.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with occasional evening or weekend work based on client needs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
