 To manage a defined category or sub category to continuously improve ranges and promotions and exceed sales and margin targets. Develop a category plan that supports delivery of the customer plan, market share acquisition, excellent availability + omni channel leadership.
 Job Responsibilities
 
Develop Category Strategy with senior buyer to achieve Sales/Profitability targets, and maximize market share of assigned category
 
Develop assortment frequently including Brands, Products & Agencies to ensure freshness and improve profitability
 
Regular planogram updates with merchandising team to cover effective display principles and ensure sell out of phase out / display inventory
 
Train, coach & develop team members to deliver in line with business requirements and for their personal growth
 
Implement promo strategy through direct team & support functions to ensure business objectives are met; review effectiveness of promotion activity and update team
 
Develop advertising & marketing strategy; implement through marketing; review effectiveness of all activities and update category head / team
 
Manage Order & Replenishment process through team ensuring an optimal inventory, availability and aged are in control
 
Develop strategy + support new Product Development process & Sourcing for Own Brands
 
Review & analyze market trends, daily marketing review of core competition to ensure competitiveness in assortment and pricing
 
Work with service & support teams constantly to improve business processes and increase customer satisfaction
 
Online category development and promo strategy development to ensure competitiveness with market & grow online business
 
Manage Supplier Relation, agency & non-agency. Range development , negotiate commercial terms , promotional / marketing activities , other operating incomes and follow up on timely payment of supplier receivables
 
In store layout, display & space management/execution via planogram and stores visits
 
Min weekly visits to core stores + competitors with actionable follow up circulated to wider team
 
Candidate Requirements
 
At least 4 - 7 years’ experience within Electronic retailing with at least 4 years Category Management experience
 
In-depth knowledge of and experience in managing a Consumer Electronics Category
 
Professional development in retail strategy / category management
 
Excellent analytical skills and aptitude to draw out plans and assess accurately the market needs for the category

 Overview Of The Role
 
 
 
 Responsible for supporting the Head of Commercial with the development of Kuwait Product Offering to maximize sales and gross margin objectives, while managing inventory objectives for specific brands. Develops strategic objectives to ensure long-term sustained growth across all the market
 
 
 
 What You Will Do

 Develop implement and deliver category plans including range reviews, promotions pricing and stock that are consistent with overall commercial strategy and financial objectives.
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop category strategy and assortment plan built on understanding of market trends, customer needs, and via trade partnerships; aiming to maximize category sales and profits.
 </li>
 <li>
 Build strong relationship with current and new vendors, establishing strong fundamentals and obtain great support &amp; Investment from Top vendors.
 </li>
 <li>
 Establish and maintain a margin &amp; pricing policy, with optimal promotion intensity and mechanics that drive highest sales and margins.
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitor daily category performance on brand/item level and action immediately on any performance gap in terms of sales, margin, and sell through rate.
 </li>
 <li>
 Plan promotions according to pre-set promotion calendar, company, and category thematic campaigns. Allocate off-shelf display space to the best promotion offers and facilitate key new product launch; and maximize display income therefrom. Provide promotion forecast, monitor promotion sell through and action on any necessary mark down and clearance.
 </li>
 <li>
 Coordinate with eCom and Marketing teams for online and CRM offers as well.
 </li>
 <li>
 Be on track of New store expansions, driving the best in-store exposure for the Cosmetics category
 </li>
 <li>
 Conduct regular review on range, space productivity and planogram per sub-category and per brand with Planning team, and action on range gap and manage range tail (including clearance, deletion, return).
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure healthy stock level by closely monitoring any Out of Stock, Overstock, and sell thru issues and action on funded clearance and/or goods return wherever feasible.
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and implement marketing promotion plans and strategies that are relevant to category; adhere to legislation and brand guidelines&rsquo;; and clearly and effectively communicate with the customer, driving footfall and profitable sales.
 </li>
 <li>
 Review and evaluate the effectiveness of promotions, taking appropriate action where necessary, and sharing best practice with peers and other stakeholders.
 </li>
 <li>
 Work with Exclusive Brands to develop and deliver exclusive products/ranges that deliver increased participation and meet agreed strategy and plans.
 </li>
 <li>
 Working in partnership with the planning team, agree merchandising strategy that drives and delivers right range in the right store; ensuring availability in store; and control of slow moving stock.
 </li>
 <li>
 Identify and implement new product opportunities that are competitively priced, commercially viable and meet customer needs, driving sales and profitability.
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage and review pricing, ensuring pricing that is competitive and maximises profitability. Operate within Company pricing strategy.

 Working in conjunction with Planning team to ensure base sales and promotional forecasts are adhered to, whilst maintaining in-store availability to meet the customer&rsquo;s needs.
