Job Description
Job Summary


The incumbent will be responsible for producing high quality project design deliverables in both FF&E and construction documents. The incumbent will also coordinate with interior designer teams for projects as well as preparing and developing drawings and materials related to the design.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities by Dimensions:


A. Shareholder & Financial:

  • Ensure the appropriate engagement of all relevant stakeholders and their engagement at the appropriate level throughout the project.
  • Play committed role in delivering team's objectives by fulfilling or surpassing expectations of supervisor and fellow team members.
  • Prioritize routine tasks to complete the most urgent and important tasks first.
  • Action assigned tasks as per the set timelines without any delay, maximizing individual's contribution to the success of team or function.
  • Support interior designer team when the issue is complex.
  • Promote cost consciousness and efficiency and enhance productivity, to minimise cost, avoid waste, and optimise benefits for the bank.
  • Implements KPI's and best practices for Interior Designing.

B. Customer (Internal & External):

  • Attend to departments needs efficiently and ensure delivering designs in a timely manner.
  • Use defined internal processes and always strives to meet and exceed service standards.
  • Understand difficulties in design as a result of specific customer needs in QNB branches and subsidiaries to assist customers in all their queries on Bank's product and seek solution to their requests.
  • Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve improvements in turn-around time.
  • Build and maintain strong/effective relationships with related departments/units to achieve the Group's objectives.

  • Provide timely/accurate data to external/internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control and Risk when required.

C. Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):

  • Develop initial ideas and acquiring key information about potential projects, discussing requirements in detail with business (the brief) and setting project schedules.
  • Document project requirements from user departments to develop the design specifications.
  • Coordinate with the concerned stakeholders to ensure proper integration of their requirements and the design (IT security, corporate communications)
  • Develop advance materials and finishes board and provide to the VP interior designing for approval.
  • Estimate cost and amount of materials required, present plans to VP interior designing for approval, estimate bids, and prepare contracts for interior installation.
  • Based on the approved project specifications, review working drawings, designs, plans, models and schemes and submit them to the VP interior designing for approval.
  • Review final layouts and suggest improvements as needed before the submission to the VP interior designing.
  • Review initial layouts and attend to floor plan/ design requirements through designing and ensuring design is reflected in AutoCAD drawings.
  • Preparing tender documents and evaluation reports of tenders with recommendations, share it with VP interior designing for approval.
  • Coordinate with consultants & contractors and ensure the execution of project as per the specifications and drawings.

D. Learning & Knowledge:

  • Strong creativity and the ability to take instructions, formulate design decisions.
  • Understands Architectural and Structural needs.
  • Identify any areas for professional development of self and all direct reports, and act to enhance professional development of self and others.
  • Be able to communicate well with the concerned stakeholders to ensure proper integration of their requirements and the design (IT security, corporate communications)
  • Proactively identify areas for professional development of self and undertake development activities.
  • Seek out opportunities to remain current with all developments in professional field.

E. Legal, Regulatory, and Risk Framework Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements including, but not limited to, Group Compliance Policies and Procedures (AML & CTF, Sanctions Policy, Data Protection Policy, Fraud Control Policy, Whistle Blowing Policy, Conflict of Interest and Insider Dealing Policy).
  • Understand and effectively perform your role under the Three Lines of Defence principle to identify measure, monitor, manage and report risks.
  • Ensure systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with Conduct Risk policy.
  • Support the framework of RCSA, KRI, Incident reporting and remediation, as appropriate, in accordance with the Operational Risk Management requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure full qualification to undertake the role.
  • Complete all mandatory training provided by the Bank, attain, and maintain the required levels of competence.
  • Attend mandatory (internal and external) seminars as instructed by the Bank.

F. Other:

  • Ensure high standards of data protection and confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.
  • Maintaining utmost confidentiality concerning customer and internal bank information obtained during the course of business and provide such information on a need to know basis only to Senior Management of QNB, Audit and Compliance functions, and relevant Regulators.
  • Maintain high professional standards to uphold QNB's reputation and to strengthen its market leadership position.
  • All other ad hoc duties/activities related to QNB that management might request from time to time.
Education and Experience Requirements

  • University degree or technical diploma in interior design.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience as an interior designer.
