We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Sr. Document Controller to join our team for the management and construction supervision of a prestigious 65-floor high-rise building project in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a landmark project in a dynamic and growing city.
Job Summary:
The Sr. Document Controller will be responsible for managing and controlling all project-related documents, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of document control principles and practices, excellent organizational skills, and a proven track record of success in managing documentation on large-scale construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a robust document control system for the project.
- Manage the receipt, distribution, and filing of all project documents, including drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence.
- Ensure that all documents are properly indexed, tracked, and stored electronically and physically.
- Implement and enforce document control procedures and standards to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records of document revisions and approvals.
- Distribute documents to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Monitor document flow and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Train project team members on document control procedures.
- Prepare reports on document status and compliance.
- Manage the archiving of project documents upon completion.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective document control.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive project information.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of document control processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BSc) or Diploma in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in document control, preferably on large-scale construction projects.
- Strong understanding of document control principles and practices.
- Proficiency in document management software and electronic filing systems.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment is an advantage.
