Job Description

Job Title: Sr. Land Surveyor

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Africa

Project: Management and Construction Supervision of a 65-Floor High-Rise Building

Project Duration: 60 Months

Job Summary:

The Sr. Land Surveyor will be responsible for all aspects of surveying related to the construction of a 65-floor high-rise building. This includes, but is not limited to, establishing and maintaining control networks, performing precise measurements, and ensuring the accuracy of layouts for various construction activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of surveying principles, extensive experience in high-rise building projects, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain accurate control networks on the project site.
  • Perform precise measurements using surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS, and levels.
  • Interpret and utilize construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Layout structures, foundations, columns, and other building elements according to design plans.
  • Monitor and verify the accuracy of construction activities, ensuring adherence to specifications and tolerances.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate survey records, reports, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other construction professionals to resolve surveying-related issues.
  • Oversee and train junior surveyors and survey assistants as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and surveying standards.
  • Proactively identify and address potential surveying challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Conduct as-built surveys to document the final construction for record purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Surveying or BSc in Geomatics/Surveying Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in land surveying.
  • Mandatory experience with high-rise building projects.
  • Proficiency in using surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS, and levels.
  • Strong knowledge of surveying principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with surveying software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar.
  • Experience working in international construction projects is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Net Salary: 3,000 USD per month
