Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and highly organized Supply Chain Planner to join our dynamic team. The Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient management of the company’s supply chain operations, from forecasting and planning to procurement and inventory control. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of supply chain management principles.
 

Key Responsibilities

Demand Planning and Forecasting

  • Analyze sales trends and market data to develop accurate demand forecasts.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to align forecasts with business objectives.
  • Utilize forecasting software and tools to predict future inventory needs.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliation.

Procurement and Supplier Management

  • Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of materials.
  • Negotiate contracts and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies.

Production Planning

  • Coordinate production schedules to ensure alignment with demand forecasts and inventory levels.
  • Work closely with production teams to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce lead times.
  • Adjust production plans as needed to respond to changes in demand or supply chain disruptions.

Logistics and Distribution

  • Oversee the logistics and distribution processes to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and transportation companies.
  • Optimize distribution networks and transportation routes to minimize costs and improve efficiency.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Generate regular reports on key supply chain metrics and performance indicators.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify areas for process improvement within the supply chain and implement best practices.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in supply chain management.
  • Lead or participate in supply chain improvement projects and initiatives.
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in supply chain planning, inventory management, or a related role.
  • Proficiency in supply chain planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
