Job Description

The Tile Mason Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and leading a team of tile masons on construction or renovation projects. This role involves ensuring the proper installation of tiles, supervising daily work operations, and maintaining high standards of craftsmanship, safety, and efficiency on site. The supervisor will coordinate tasks, manage resources, and provide guidance to the team to ensure timely and high-quality completion of all tile work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of tile masons, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Plan and organize work schedules, assign tasks, and allocate resources to ensure timely project completion.
  • Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the scope and layout of tile work.
  • Monitor and inspect work quality, ensuring all tile installations meet industry standards and project specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for the team.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople to ensure seamless coordination of work.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to tile masons on proper installation techniques, materials, and tools.
  • Resolve any issues or challenges that arise during tile installation and take appropriate action to address them.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the work area and materials, ensuring that proper inventory and equipment are available for each phase of the project.
  • Train and mentor junior tile masons, providing opportunities for skill development and growth.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and hours worked.
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a tile mason with a strong understanding of tile installation techniques.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, managing a team of workers.
  • In-depth knowledge of tile materials, tools, and installation methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to address challenges on-site.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage team members and collaborate with other trades.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and physical environments.
  • Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and work long hours as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Formal training or apprenticeship in tile masonry or related field preferred.

Working Conditions:
