Job Description
Position Title: Transmission Engineer – Incident Investigations & Fault Analysis
Location: Saudi Arabia
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
Experience: Minimum 10 years in Asset Management, Maintenance & Reliability, Protection Engineering, System Design, and CAPEX planning
Monthly Salary Package: 10,000 up to 20,000 SAR Max
Qualifications:
- Expertise in high-voltage transmission assets (substations, transformers, lines, cables)
- Proven experience in root cause analysis, fault investigation, and forensic analysis
- Proficient with protection event recorders and disturbance analysis software
- Solid understanding of fault current behavior, system stability, and relay coordination
- Excellent reporting and presentation skills
- Fluent in English (Arabic is an advantage)
Preferred Certifications:
- Certified Root Cause Analyst (e.g., TapRooT, Apollo RCA)
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
- ISO 55001 Asset Management awareness or Lead Auditor
- Power System Protection Certification
Language Requirements: English (Arabic is a plus)
Responsibilities:
- Lead investigations for faults and failures across transmission assets
- Conduct root cause analyses using RCA, FMEA, and Fault Tree methods
- Analyze SCADA, relay data, event logs, and physical evidence
- Prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective/preventive actions
- Identify and address systemic risks in network reliability
- Collaborate with protection and control teams to ensure proper relay coordination
- Communicate findings to stakeholders and ensure implementation follow-up
- Participate in technical committees, audits, and incident review boards
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Support continuous improvement by integrating lessons learned
