Job Description

Job Title: Transportation Officer

Location: Dammam, Saudi Arabia

Department: Logistics / Fleet Management

Reports To: Logistics Manager / Operations Manager

Job Summary:

The Transportation Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing the construction company’s fleet, ensuring compliance with Saudi transportation laws, and optimizing vehicle usage for operational efficiency. The role involves coordinating logistics, maintaining regulatory documentation, and ensuring that all vehicles and drivers meet legal and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:1. Fleet & Vehicle Management:

  • Oversee the company’s fleet, including light and heavy vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
  • Ensure timely maintenance, repair, and servicing of all vehicles.
  • Keep track of vehicle registrations, insurance, and renewals as per Saudi regulations.
  • Monitor fuel usage, optimize routes, and reduce operational costs.

2. Compliance & Government Regulations:

  • Ensure all company vehicles and drivers comply with Saudi Arabian Traffic Laws and Ministry of Transport (MOT) regulations.
  • Process vehicle permits, licenses, and renewals through Absher, Tamm, and other Saudi government platforms.
  • Coordinate with Muroor (Traffic Police), MOI (Ministry of Interior), and MOT (Ministry of Transport & Logistics Services) for regulatory matters.
  • Handle Iqama (residency) and driver license renewals for expatriate drivers.

3. Driver Management & Supervision:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise company drivers.
  • Ensure drivers follow safety protocols, traffic laws, and company policies.
  • Maintain a driver performance and disciplinary record.
  • Arrange defensive driving training and awareness programs.

4. Logistics & Operations Coordination:

  • Plan and schedule vehicle movements for site operations and deliveries.
  • Optimize vehicle dispatch to construction sites for efficiency.
  • Coordinate transportation for workers, materials, and equipment.
  • Address emergency breakdowns and ensure quick resolution.

5. Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain logs and records of vehicle usage, repairs, and fuel consumption.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly transportation reports.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of vehicle and driver information.
  • Ensure compliance with Saudi Labor Law regarding transportation benefits for employees.

Qualifications & Requirements:

✅ Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Transport Management, or Business Administration.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in transportation management, preferably in a construction or logistics company.
Fluency in Arabic & English (spoken and written).
✅ Strong knowledge of Saudi Arabian government regulations related to transport.
✅ Proficiency in using Absher, Tamm, MOI portals, and other government platforms.
✅ Experience in fleet management software and GPS tracking systems.
✅ Valid Saudi driving license (Heavy Vehicle License is a plus).
✅ Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Preferred Skills:

✔ Knowledge of Saudi labor laws related to transportation.
✔ Experience in heavy equipment logistics (e.g., cranes, bulldozers, dump trucks).
✔ Ability to handle vehicle accident claims and traffic violations.
✔ Strong negotiation skills for dealing with suppliers, workshops, and leasing companies.
✔ Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ﷼2,500.00 - ﷼3,500.00 per month
