Web Developer – Shopify & WordPress with AI + Automation Skills | OVO

Now, we're hiring a smart, sharp, and fast web developer who can own our websites, build beautiful front-ends, and automate processes that save time and drive revenue.

We want someone who thrives in Shopify and WordPress, but also understands the value of AI, automation, and smart design.

Your Role:

As OVO’s Web Developer, you'll be responsible for building, managing, and optimizing websites across Shopify and WordPress — both for our in-house brands and clients. This includes everything from theme customization and plugin integration to fast-loading, mobile-first front-end builds.

You'll also have the opportunity to introduce automation, integrate AI tools, and support design workflows.

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain WordPress websites (custom themes, plugins, WooCommerce)
• Develop and customize Shopify stores (themes, product logic, app integration)
• Optimize all sites for speed, mobile UX, SEO, and conversion
• Integrate third-party APIs and connect platforms via webhooks or automation tools
• Work with designers to bring UI/UX ideas to life quickly and cleanly
• Manage version control, staging, backups, and performance monitoring

Bonus Responsibilities (If You’re Skilled):

• Set up and optimize automated workflows using Make.com, n8n, or Zapier
• Integrate AI tools like ChatGPT, DALL·E, ElevenLabs into content or site flows
• Build chatbots or simple voicebot interfaces for lead capture or FAQ
• Create or adapt simple design tasks (e.g., using Figma, Canva, Photoshop)

Requirements:

• Strong development experience with both WordPress and Shopify
• Proficient in: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Liquid (Shopify)
• Able to develop and troubleshoot across front-end and back-end
• Experience with cross-platform responsive design and optimization
• Familiar with ecommerce UX, payment gateways, SEO fundamentals
• Able to manage timelines independently and handle multiple projects
• Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus)

Preferred Add-On Skills (Not Mandatory):

• Experience with automation tools: Make.com, n8n, Zapier
• Familiarity with OpenAI, ChatGPT APIs, or AI content workflows
• Graphic design knowledge (Adobe Suite or Figma)
• CRM/ERP integrations (Zoho, Airtable, HubSpot, etc.)
• Basic video editing or motion graphics understanding
