Role Summary

Polaris I/O is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to help build and scale our event-driven microservice data pipeline powering our CRM Integration Platform. This platform enables reliable, high-quality data exchange with client systems such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, and Matrix.

Our stack includes:

· Python microservices (FastAPI)

· AWS SQS + EventBridge

· Kubernetes (EKS)

· Aurora PostgreSQL

· Configuration-driven workflows using YAML

This role is hands-on and technical — you will build production systems that run at scale.

What You’ll Do:
Microservice Development

· Build/maintain Aurora PostgreSQL data models using SQLAlchemy + Alembic

· Implement pipelines for:

· normalization

· deduplication

· data hygiene

· enrichment

· record matching

· Tune PostgreSQL performance (query optimization, indexing, partitioning)

Cloud & Integration

· Build cloud-native pipelines using AWS SQS, EventBridge, EKS, Lambda, Aurora PostgreSQL

· Integrate with CRMs to extract/process/reinsert standardized datasets

· Improve observability using structured logging + monitoring

What We’re Looking For (Must-Haves)

· 7+ years software engineering experience

· 5+ years hands-on Python

· Production experience with:

o PostgreSQL performance tuning

o AWS event-driven services (SQS, EventBridge, etc.)

o Kubernetes / EKS

· Experience with FastAPI, async Python

· Experience with SQLAlchemy, Alembic, Pydantic

· Strong debugging skills in distributed cloud systems

· Strong written and verbal communication in English (role includes documentation and collaboration with U.S.-based teams/clients)

Work Authorization Requirement (Required)

Work Expectations

· Work Hours - This is a full-time position that requires employees to be online, actively engaged during standard business hours, and available for occasional after-hours support.

· Work Authorization - This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Compensation & Benefits:

· Salary range: $125,000 – $150,000
