Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a <b>Software Test Engineer </b>for the <b>TMAS 2 Contract</b>, supporting the <b>47 Cyberspace Test Squadron </b>at lackland AFB, TX.<br>

Our cybersecurity test team is searching for new members that can help us conduct system security analysis on systems and/or software to understand and identify vulnerabilities. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment, learning new technology areas, this is the place for you. We provide a number of opportunities to learn ranging from on-the-job training with other team members to formal courses for unique technology areas.</p><p><br>
We realize that no one will have all of these qualifications. We are looking for people that can bring a strong foundation in one of the listed areas and are motivated to learn the others. Position responsibilities can span from compliance testing to penetration testing, depending on skillset.</p><p></p><p><b><br>
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS</b></p><br>

Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in a technical discipline and a minimum of 3 years of technical experience is required. Additional experience ay be substituted for education.</li><li>
Requires an active and fully adjudicated TS/SCI cclearanc, and the ability maintain a TS/SCI security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.</li><li>
Must obtain the ISTQB CTFL certification within 6 months of hire.</li><li>
Must obtain the ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level-Test Analyst (CTAL-TA) certification within 2 years of hire.</li><li>
Advanced experience with Windows (Power Shell) and Linux (Kali and Ubuntu) command line interface.</li><li>
Intermediate ability to interface effectively with customers, end-users, technical leads, and program management throughout the full software development lifecycle.</li><li>
Intermediate experience designing, writing, reviewing, and executing test plans, procedures, reports, and technical documentation.</li><li>
Excellent self-initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work under minimal supervision.</li><li>
Analytical skills and problem-solving skills.</li><li>
Intermediate verbal and written communication skills in English.</li><li>
Intermediate ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies and innovations.</li><li>
Intermediate experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>
Basic understanding of the Agile mindset and methodologies, including Agile project management.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS</b></p><br>

Knowledgeable on various Software Development Lifecycles.</li><li>
Advanced experience working in Windows, Linux (Kali and Ubuntu), and VMware environments.</li><li>
Intermediate experience with Agile/Scrum Framework and Issue Management Tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira, Azure DevOps).
</li><li>Intermediate knowledge in Web technologies, Mobile technologies, Embedded systems, Communication protocols, or Data science.</li><li>
Working knowledge of OSI model, TCP/IP networking, architecture, and core technologies (e.g. Network traffic collection and analysis, enterprise network architecture, routers, mail and web servers, Intrusion Detection &amp; Prevention Systems, firewalls, anti-virus tools, network traffic generation).
</li><li>Basic knowledge of systems engineering concepts, user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) applications.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
RESPONSIBILITIES</b></p><ul><li>
Support test managers in the development of test plans, reports and customer communications following established test methodologies and procedures.
</li><li>Prepare Developmental Test &amp; Evaluation (DT&amp;E) test cases, and perform functional testing at the system, interoperability, and integration test levels on various systems and networks under the direction of a Senior Test Engineer.</li><li>
Participate in all phases of software and hardware development to include requirements development, risk assessments, and evaluation criteria refinement.</li><li>
Coordinate with customers, test engineers and range engineers to ensure the test infrastructure meet desired test objectives and data collection requirements.</li><li>
Actively participate throughout the acquisition process in order to influence development of a testable capability or product.</li><li>
Compile and analyze test results data to determine conformity of the product or capability to the requirements.</li><li>
Document change requests/deficiencies of the product or capability as a result of test data analysis.</li></ul><p></p><div><br>

QUALIFICATIONS</b><b>:</b></div><ul><li>
Education: Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in a related field</li><li>
Years of Experience: Up to three years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed. Two additional years of directly related experience with proper certifications may substitute for Bachelor&rsquo;s degree.</li><li>
Capable of identifying critical logistics requirements (e.g., funding, manpower, materiel, facilities, and services) needed to support the assigned effort.</li><li>
Proficient Microsoft office skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).</li><li>
Familiarity with defense acquisition management in accordance with the DoD 5000.</li><li>
Familiarity with the Product Support Business Case Analysis</li><li>
Familiarity with the logistics integrated product support model outlined in the DoD Product Support Manager Guidebook.</li><li>
Capable of working independently and as part of a collaborative team.</li><li>
