Aviagen is looking for a Maintenance II position for our operations and is responsible for keeping facilities operating efficiently,<br>
repairing any problems when they are found, and performing preventive<br>
maintenance on buildings, structures and grounds as needed.<div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p><b>
Job Description:</b></p></div></div></div></div></div></div></div><ul><li>
Perform basic mechanical repairs at our buildings including plumbing,</li></ul><p>
lighting, heating, air conditioning, etc.</p><ul><li>
Check, install, and repair equipment, which includes, chain feed systems,</li></ul><p>
line auger feed systems, Rotem controllers, watering systems, ventilation<br>
systems, generators, wells and septic systems.</p><ul><li>
Other duties include: repairing wooden structures, working with chicken</li></ul><p>
wire, replacing electrical and plumbing fixtures, cutting Plexiglas to fit<br>
aluminum frames, routine maintenance on buildings, greasing equipment,<br>
checking to ensure equipment is operating properly and repairing if<br>
needed, working with PVC waterline and fittings, installing cat6 wiring and</p><p></p><div>
Qualifications:<br>
<ul><li>Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, flooring, masonry, electrical,</li></ul>
welding, roofing, machinery, mechanics, heating, ventilation and air<br>
conditioning (HVAC).<br>
<ul><li>Must be able to use basic hand tools.</li><li>Must be able to read, understand, and follow task specific instructions,</li></ul>
such as Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.<br>
<ul><li>Must have own tools including a basic socket set, wrenches, skill saw,</li></ul>
grinder, drill, sawzall, volt meter, level, and tape measure.<br>
<ul><li>Must be a team player with strong verbal skills and a positive attitude.</li></ul>
Physical Requirements:<br>
<ul><li>A person in this position is expected to walk/stand for extended periods.</li><li>Ability to use measuring tools and measure precisely for cutting with</li></ul>
power and/or hand tools.<br>
<ul><li>Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain, such as rough ground</li></ul>
and floors with shavings.<br>
<ul><li>Frequently carry/lift objects and equipment weighting up to 40 lbs.,</li></ul>
including lumber and metal building materials<br>
<ul><li>Ability to perform repetitive tasks that require hand/wrist dexterity.</li><li>Ability to work from aerial lift w/fall restraint system at around 20 ft.</li><li>Must be able to safely pick up materials stored at ground level.</li><li>Must be able to apply 50 lbs. of force to push carts.</li></ul></div><ul><li>Must be able to frequently kneel/squat</li><li>Must be capable of performing tasks squatting at floor level or on</li></ul>
knees.<br>
<ul><li>Must be able to conduct repetitive tasks.</li><li>Must be able to use both fixed and portable ladders (step and/or</li></ul>
extension ladders).<br>
<ul><li>Utilize a variety of tools, including, but not limited to, drills, hammers,</li></ul>
saws, metal grinders, blowtorches, and welders. Tools used mainly<br>
consist of power tools, but some hand tools are also used.<br>
<ul><li>Ability to wear required personal protective equipment for identified</li></ul>
tasks, such as ear muffs, ear plugs, safety glasses, welding helmets,<br>
work gloves, work boots, harness, etc.<br>
<ul><li>Ability to drive maintenance van to and from work sites.</li></ul><b>
Work Conditions</b><br>
<ul><li>Exposed at times to airborne particles, such as dust and dander.</li><li>Exposed to various noise levels, sometimes exceeding the 85-dBA action</li></ul>
level set by OSHA. Proper PPE hearing protection will be provided by<br>
Hubbard in these areas.<br>
<ul><li>Over the course of assigned tasks, a person in this position will be</li></ul>
exposed to chemicals, such as detergents, and disinfectants.<br>
<ul><li>May be exposed to very hot temperatures, very cold temperatures,</li></ul>
snow, sleet, ice, etc.<br>
<ul><li>Exposed to farm related smells and foul odors.</li></ul><p></p><p>
