Responsible for receiving and dispatching 250-350 calls in an efficient and courteous manner, for the Hospital and MEDNET Answering Service. Must have genuine interest and empathy in meeting the needs of our patients, visitors and staff. Must demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure and be flexible to schedule changes to meet department needs. Computer skills are required.
Responsibilities
<ul><li>Greets/ visitors on the phone and in person in a professional, prompt and courteous manner.
</li><li>Dispatches calls in a professional, prompt, accurate and courteous manner.
</li><li>Refers to &ldquo;department on-call&rdquo; lists to provide accurate information upon request...</li>
<li>Updates AMION &amp; MEDNET changes as they occur during shift. First shift inputs daily coverage
</li><li>Answers and dispatches all emergency calls (similar to &ldquo;911&rdquo;), codes, elevator alarms, and emergency stat calls promptly and accurately in one ring or less in a calm manner.</li>
<li>Responds to Fire Department and 800 MHz radio. Utilizes walkie-talkies as specified in accounts. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with affiliated departments, staff, patients and other outside contacts. Maintains emphasis on excellent customer service.</li>
<li>Distributes A/V equipment as requested and assures the employee signs in/out. Checks equipment upon return to assure wire/cords, etc. is in place.
</li><li>Provides pager management assistance on all shifts. Replacement of pagers, batteries, troubleshooting, etc.
</li><li>Maintains quality records/tickets in accounts in collaboration with the clients.
</li><li>Performs all other related duties as assigned.</li>

Job Qualifications and Specifications
A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
AMION on-call scheduling, customer service and answering service knowledge is a plus.

Research Assistant in Women's Mental Health

<div>The Cognition, Emotion, and Life Experiences Lab (part of the Psychosocial Research Program) at Butler Hospital is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic candidates for a full-time research assistant (RA) position to work on projects led by Principal Investigators Michael Armey, PhD, Chris Hughes, PhD, Heather Schatten, PhD, and Gemma Wallace, PhD. This role involves working on studies focused on predicting and intervening on suicidal thoughts and behaviors in daily life and during high-risk time periods. Current grant-funded studies involve behavioral and physiological assessments, smartphone and wearable device technology (e.g., biosensors, smartwatches), and technology-based treatment development and implementation for suicide in psychiatric hospital settings. This position would be a good fit for individuals wishing to pursue graduate or medical school in the future. We are considering applicants who can start immediately through July 2026.
Butler Hospital is a Brown University-affiliated psychiatric hospital located in Providence, RI. Butler Hospital is one of the earliest psychiatric facilities established in the United States. The Psychosocial Research Program is one of several active research groups at Butler Hospital. Dr. Ivan Miller is the director, and the program is comprised of academic psychologists, post-doctoral fellows, research assistants, master&rsquo;s-level interventionists, and project coordinators. Research in this group is currently funded by numerous NIH and other grants, and primarily centers on suicide prevention, post-hospital transitions, technology-assisted assessment and intervention, mood and psychotic disorders, and comorbid conditions (substance use disorders and physical health problems) conducted in a variety of clinical settings.
Job Description: Main duties include overseeing participant recruitment, scheduling, and compensation; conducting clinical assessments with research participants; maintaining participant records and datafiles; developing research study materials, manuals, and databases; maintaining Internal Review Board (IRB) documents and approval; restocking research supplies; and maintaining a professional and collegial work environment with colleagues, supervisors, hospital staff members, and study participants.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in psychology or related field required. Experience with clinical or behavioral health research and/or working with psychiatric populations is desirable. The position requires good organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Experience using R, RStudio, SPSS, and REDCap is a plus.
