<div><p>Christie Clinic's department of Gastroenterology is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant at the Fields clinic from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, with no night or weekend requirements.</p><p>
Duties include performance of skills through the delivery of patient care using a systematic patient assessment.</p><p><b>
JOB DUTIES:</b> (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)</p><ul><li><p>
Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments prior to appointment.</p></li><li><p>
Clean and restock rooms at the end of the day.</p></li><li><p>
Perform chart preparation according to department standards.</p></li><li><p>
Maintain and update patient medical record upon visit including allergies, medications, etc. and enter into the electronic medical record.</p></li><li><p>
Appropriate use of flag system per standard work.</p></li><li><p>
Review and respond to the electronic medical record work list per department standard work.</p></li><li><p>
Complete lab order entries and appropriately handle patient specimens (including communication to patient per department standard work), as needed.</p></li><li><p>
Assists providers with procedures/surgery, as needed.</p></li><li><p>
Assist in patient education relating to medication instructions, procedures, wound care or any other necessary information pertaining to patient care.</p></li><li><p>
Perform related work as required.</p></li></ul><p><b>
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</b></p><ul><li><p>
High School Diploma or equivalent</p></li><li><p>
Certified Nurse Assistant Certificate and/or graduation from an accredited program for medical assistants</p></li></ul><p><b>
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</b></p><ul><li><p>
Previous health care experience</p></li></ul><p><b>
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:</b></p><ul><li><p>
CPR Certification</p></li></ul><p><b>
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</b><br>
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 75 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, a normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office and lab equipment is required.<br>
<b>TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:</b><br>
Work is performed in a clinical office and Mohs lab setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, hazardous waste, bodily fluids and other waste common to a health care environment. Requirements may include working irregular hours.</p><p><b>

Medical Assistant - Gastroenterology

<div><p>Christie Clinic's department of Convenient Care is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Service Representative Specialist on a rotating schedule, 3 days a week with availability from Sunday-Saturday 8:00am-8:00pm, including weekends and holidays on rotation.</p><p>
Duties include greeting clinic patients upon arrival, assisting with the check in process, answering incoming phone calls, scheduling appointments, collecting payments and assisting with the checkout or rescheduling process. They will serve as a liaison between patients and medical support staff. Duties will also include performance of skills through the delivery of patient care using a systematic patient assessment.</p><p><b>

Greet patients and visitors in an efficient, professional and courteous manner and solicit customer feedback to improve service.
</li><li>Demonstrate the ability to promptly answer a high volume of phone calls and schedule patient appointments with providers.</li><li>
Provide check-in process for patients.</li><li>
Verify and update necessary demographic and insurance information. Apply co-payments, as needed.</li><li>
Maintain provider schedules.</li><li>
Keep a neat and orderly work and lobby area.
</li><li>Ensure that the patient completes the router form.</li><li>
Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments prior to appointment. Clean and restock following appointment.
</li><li>Assist patient to exam room, take vitals, weight and height of patient. Enter information into the electronic medical record.</li><li>
Maintain and update patient medical record upon visit including allergies, medications, etc. and enter into the electronic medical record.</li><li>
Flag appropriate room for provider to see patient.</li><li>
Assist with procedures during appointment.</li><li>
Perform lab tests, treatments, etc., as directed by provider.</li><li>
Perform related work as required.</li></ul><p><b>
