Job Summary We are seeking a creative, thoughtful, and highly driven Senior Interior Designer to join a collaborative and design-forward studio. This is an opportunity to lead and shape the work of meaningful commercial, hospitality, and residential projects.In this role, you will lead projects from concept through completion, partnering closely with the principal, and mentoring a Junior Designer. You&rsquo;ll balance creative vision with technical expertise, managing multiple complex projects while maintaining the highest standards of design, documentation, and execution.This is a full-time role with an in-office collaborative working style.Responsibilities<ul><li>Lead all phases of the design process, including concept development, design documentation, project and vendor management, and installation</li><li>Manage multiple high-end projects simultaneously, overseeing timelines, budgets, schedules, and deliverables</li><li>Create and present detailed design concepts, including inspiration boards, AutoCAD drawings, elevations, and 3-D renderings.</li><li>Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, builders, consultants, and vendors, ensuring clear communication and alignment. Represent the firm with professionalism and polish. Build strong client relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and creative problem-solving.</li><li>Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and design integrity.</li><li>Source and specify furnishings, finishes, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and materials that align with each client&rsquo;s aesthetic and functional goals. Delegate work to junior team members as needed.</li><li>Prepare and manage construction documents, specifications, and schedules to support seamless execution. Delegate work to junior team members as needed.</li><li>Work with vendors, consultants, and contractors to translate design intent into completed projects, maintaining quality and design integrity. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, showrooms, and artisans, while staying current on industry trends and materials.</li><li>Mentor and guide junior designers by delegating work, offering feedback, and supporting professional growth.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Interior Design from a CIDA-accredited program.</li><li>NCIDQ is required.</li><li>Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in a commercial and hospitality design firm with strong technical and experiential knowledge of the design and construction process. Portfolio included completed projects is required.</li><li>Proficiency in AutoCad, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office &amp; Google Workplace.</li><li>Experience with Studio Designer, or similar procurement management software is preferred.</li><li>Extensive knowledge of interior design standards, historical references, architectural styles and detailing, custom cabinetry and furniture design, upholstery and drapery design and specifications, and lighting layout and design.</li><li>Deep knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and technical detailing.</li><li>Strong project management skills with the ability to keep multiple projects on time and within deadlines.</li><li>Experience mentoring and managing a design team, including performance management and professional development.</li><li>Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.</li><li>Ability to travel throughout the state of Vermont and adjacent communities.</li></ul>Benefits:<ul><li>Paid time off</li><li>Professional development assistance</li><li>Retirement plan</li></ul>Work Location: In person
