Description:
Dispatchers of the Logan 911 Communications Division provide public safety communications services to multiple police, fire, and emergency medical agencies within Cache County.
Qualifications:
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Must be able to work rotating shifts, including weekends, and holidays. Must be able to multi-task, provide exceptional service during stressful situations and work well in a team environment.

Upon hire candidates must successfully complete the division's Communications Training program and obtain various industry certifications including CPR, Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD), Police Officer Standard Training (POST) Dispatch Certification and others.
Responsibilities:
A successful candidate will perform emergency and non-emergency communications and dispatch duties including; receiving and prioritizing calls and requests for public safety departments; maintaining accurate status of all units on radio channels; record and relay information for police, fire and medical services; search public safety records for warrants, vehicle registrations, driver licenses, and other information; enter and retrieve information from computer; maintain and operate a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system; operate multiple channel radio system; maintain confidentiality with information obtained through employment; and perform other duties as required to professionally serve the citizens and public safety responders of Cache County.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of emergency medical services, law enforcement and fire organization operations.
Ability to operate basic computer systems and type efficiently (suggested 40wpm+)
Ability to exercise good judgement and logical thought patterns during emergencies and heavy workloads.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing in routine and emergency situations.
Ability to gain control of calls through active listening, remaining calm and showing appropriate objectivity/empathy.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff, partner agency members, and the public.

Description:

Reporting to the Library Director, assists with the overall administration of the Logan Library and manages adult or children's collections, tech services, or system administrator duties.
Qualifications:<ul><li>
A Master's degree in Library Science or a closely related area and experience equivalent to three (3) years full-time professional Librarian work, including at least one year of supervisory experience or a combination thereof.
</li><li>A valid Utah Operator License.</li><li>
The ability to reach, push, pull, squat, and move repetitively to retrieve and shelve items on library shelves (with or without a library cart), walking, standing, or sitting for extended time periods (two to four hours), and carrying a reasonable selection of materials between places where they are stored and places where they are used within library facilities and property. May be required to lift/carry materials up to 50 pounds.</li></ul>
Responsibilities:
The Assistant Director will:<ul><li>
Act on behalf of the Director in their absence;</li><li>
Act as the liaison with Logan City's facilities department;</li><li>
Act as the liaison with the Friends of the Logan Library;</li><li>
Lead the Library's scheduling committee;</li><li>
Lead the Library's safety committee;</li><li>
Act on behalf of other supervisors in their absence;</li><li>
Provide reference and reader's advisor services, and instruct patrons in the use of library resources, including databases, reference materials, catalogs, computers, makerspace equipment, and the interlibrary loan system;</li><li>
Participate in material circulation procedures;</li><li>
Promote library use;</li><li>
Supervise &amp; train staff;</li><li>
Develop and implement operating policies and procedures;</li><li>
Resolve day-to-day operational problems/issues involving staff and/or patrons and provide technical advice to Library staff;</li><li>
Manage a budget and make fiscally responsible purchasing choices in line with Logan City guidelines;</li><li>
Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
The Assistant Director may:<ul><li>
Develop one or more of the four primary collection areas, including evaluating and selecting books and other materials;</li><li>
Develop and promote new collections in response to community needs;</li><li>
Manage the library's IT infrastructure;</li><li>
Assist in planning, coordinating, and managing the programs, services, and activities of the Logan Library;</li><li>
Evaluate gifts to the library for appropriateness for inclusion in the collection;</li><li>
Manage traditional and social media marketing to promote library participation in the community, including the maintenance of a calendar of meetings and events, creating newsletters and announcements in various media formats, maintaining the library's social media presence, and assisting in updating information on the Library website;</li><li>
Manage the preparation and dissemination of brochures, news releases, bulletins, posters, and other public relations materials to promote library services outside the library building and host public events outside of the Library;</li><li>
Participate in creating, organizing, and/or delivering public programming related to the relevant collection and/or personal interest;</li><li>
Act as the Library's Public Information Officer (PIO);</li><li>
Lead or support monetary internal control procedures</li><li>
Participate in materials processing and/or repair.</li></ul>
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:<ul><li>
The ability to communicate effectively orally, in writing, and by listening in the modes of public speaking, speaking with small groups, providing instruction, counseling, and direction, and in preparing notes, memoranda, policies, correspondence, and reports. This includes the direct use of office computers.</li><li>
Basic technology skills, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Internet searching, and resource evaluation.</li><li>
The ability to receive, understand, interpret, and carry out library policies and procedures.</li><li>
The ability to engage in ongoing intellectual effort to maintain up-to-date knowledge of library resources, learning, literature, and information.</li><li>
An understanding that, as a salaried employee, some duties will need to be performed outside normal working hours.</li><li>
