<p></p><div><p><b>This position is considered a Safety-Sensitive position. Applicants who pass the interview process will be subject to drug and alcohol testing.</b></p><div>
The purpose of this position is to conduct maintenance and upkeep of the public parks, grounds, buildings, athletic fields and related facilities within the Recreation Department.</div></div><p></p>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES</b></h2></div>
<p></p><div><div><b>Essential Functions:</b></div><ul><li>
Must be able to communicate with others in spoken and written English to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the business.</li><li>
Mows/cuts grass with power equipment, commercial riding mowers and weed eaters.</li><li>
Opens and closes park gates, restrooms and prepares fields for use.</li><li>
Loads and unloads dirt, gravel, and other debris.</li><li>
Cleans, maintains and services equipment and tools.</li><li>
Picks up trash in the parks areas and disposes of it properly.</li><li>
Cleans and restocks restrooms and cleans picnic pavilions and prepares them for reservations.</li><li>
Maintains and conducts light repair work on equipment, building and grounds; repairs irrigation systems.</li><li>
Moves and sets up for park functions requiring moving tables, bleachers, and chairs for concerts and special events.</li><li>
Cuts down and removes limbs, branches, and trees that have been damaged by adverse weather conditions.</li><li>
Trims and sprays weeds with herbicide; spreads fertilizer.</li><li>
Installs mulch and trims landscape.</li></ul><ul><li>
Performs other work as assigned.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>

<p></p><div><div><b>Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:</b></div><ul><li>
Requires High School diploma or GED, which may be waived by work experience.</li><li>
Experience in landscaping or closely related field preferred.</li></ul><div><b>
Special Certifications and Licenses:</b></div><div><ul><li>
Must have a valid driver&rsquo;s license.</li></ul></div><div>
