<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">Essential Job Functions</h2></div>
<div><ul><li>Responds to citizen complaints regarding code violations related to the Historic Preservation Code and Certificates of Appropriateness, conservation districts approved by City Council and other related Unified Development Code regulations.</li><li>
Coordinates investigative and enforcement work with City staff and the City Attorney's Office for Boarding Home compliance with adopted regulations.</li><li>
Performs on-site inspections for compliance with new and existing requirements.</li><li>
Issues written orders for the correction of defects in material or workmanship and any other violation of codes and ordinances.</li><li>
Notifies contractors when codes violations are found and advises them on the necessary changes or actions that need to be taken to meet code requirements.</li><li>
Advises and provides information regarding procedures and follow-up actions.</li><li>
Prepares reports and recommendations showing results of daily inspections and recommends necessary changes and corrections noted from daily inspections.</li><li>
Prepares and maintains records of Inspectors' Licenses, permits issued, inspections performed, investigations conducted or complaints received.</li><li>
Assists with more complex inspections to ensure compliance with code requirements, which includes occasional lifting and carrying equipment weighing 50 pounds.</li><li>
Conducts research and investigations within an assigned area.</li><li>
Implements personnel rules and standard operating procedures.</li><li>
Provides training, instruction, and functional supervision for assigned staff.</li><li>
Monitors field inspectors' workload, quality of work, plan checking abilities, daily inspection reports, investigation reports, vehicle, and overall work performance.</li><li>
Assists the Inspections Supervisor with the administration of all phases of the programs and assumes the responsibilities of the supervisor in his/her absence.</li><li>
Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.</li></ul></div>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">Job Requirements</h2></div>
<div><ul><li>High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).</li><li>
Six (6) years of experience in the installation, service, repair, or inspection of heating and air conditioning equipment.</li><li>
Valid Class &quot;C&quot; Texas Driver's License.</li><li>
Must possess an Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician Certification issued by the Texas Department of Licensing &amp; Regulation.</li><li>
Must obtain International Code Council (ICC) certification as a Mechanical Inspector within one (1) year of employment.</li></ul>
