Holders of the Transportation Engineer Specialist position will complete tasks such as:
<ul><li>Combine data from multiple sources to improve the budget decisions for maintenance spending.
</li><li>Review and analyze data to enhance pavement management project selection.
</li><li>Conduct inspections of pavement projects to assess performance and recommend treatment options.
</li><li>Review awarded contract records and ensure construction history for pavement segments and material data are accurately reflected in PMS</li></ul>
Holders of this job will obtain the following skills:
<ul><li>Ability to read construction contracts and extract pavement work.
</li><li>Ability to analyze data from several sources, combine into meaningful datasets, and use to predict or report performance.
</li><li>Use of geospatial analysis to predict trends and visualize data.
</li><li>Use of pavement management system to create pavement work plans.</li></ul>
Desired candidates possess the following requisite skills or experience applicable to the position:
<ul><li>Ability to evaluate pavement projects to identify and classify distresses.
</li><li>Knowledge of asset management and ability to optimize asset maintenance for best performance.
</li><li>Assess maintenance needs and perform budget analysis.
</li><li>Proficiency in data analytics software.</li></ul>
Some overnight travel is required, though most work is done in office setting.<br>

</div><div>The Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy (DPA) is nationally recognized as a model statewide public defender system with an exceptional training and education program. Our defense teams ensure the criminal justice process is fair, results are just, and individual liberties are protected.<br>

We are hiring a Law Clerk to assist the criminal defense team in the Lexington North Trial Office.<br>
<br>
Kentucky DPA looks for individuals who have demonstrated a desire to help the most vulnerable in their communities. The ideal candidate recently completed all coursework at an ABA accredited law school to receive a JD degree and plans to take the next available bar exam or has recently received their license to practice law. This individual exhibits exceptional planning and organizational skills, is self-directed and comfortable working with their defense team which includes attorneys, investigators, alternative sentencing workers and office administrative staff. We seek to hire persons who understand it is a privilege to represent our clients and we do so on behalf of the people of Kentucky.<br>

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
<ul><li>Clerks assist attorneys representing defendants by providing support such as legal research and writing.
</li><li>Interview clients and other duties as required.
</li><li>Duties are performed primarily in both office and courtroom settings.
</li><li>Travel is required.</li></ul>
