Responsibilities:

JOB</b><b> </b><b>SUMMARY</b></p><div>
The Service Tech 3 &ndash; HVAC performs maintenance, repair, and installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This position is responsible for troubleshooting complex HVAC issues, guiding junior technicians, and ensuring systems are running efficiently.</div><div><b>
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</b></div><br>
<div></div><ul><li>
Troubleshoot and diagnose commercial HVAC units at our customers&rsquo; sites.</li><li>
Service commercial HVAC</li><li>
Change compressors, fans and reclaim refrigerant.</li><li>
Maintain legible records of work history.</li><li>
Ability to report to work in a timely manner as scheduled by supervisor.</li><li>
Have experience working with commercial rooftop and air package units as well as rack air condition units.</li><li>
Embodies the CoolSys CARES culture (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Empowerment, Safety).</li><li>
Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
Qualifications:

AA degree from an accredited vocational technical or junior college</li><li>
EPA certification required</li><li>
Minimum 3-5 years&rsquo; experience in construction HVAC, Refrigeration, or a related industry</li><li>
Must have chiller experience.</li><li>
Experience in troubleshooting electrical control systems is required</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Work Experience &amp; Skills</b></div><ul><li>
Knowledge of hand and power tools.</li><li>
Knowledge of refrigeration equipment and piping of refrigeration equipment.</li><li>
Knowledge of computer-controlled systems.</li><li>
Ability to read and understand refrigeration, electrical and plumbing blueprints.</li><li>
Ability to pump down all refrigeration systems and reclaim refrigerant from all types of systems.</li><li>
Good communication and presentation skills and excellent customer service.</li><li>
Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws.</li><li>
Ability to use typical business tools including E-Mail, Word, Excel, etc.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>

Work Environment:</b></div><div>
This job typically operates in convenience stores, grocery stores, food service and/or construction environment with need to work at heights from ladders and/or Scissor lifts. Mechanical rooms can have elevated noise levels. The position regularly works near/with refrigeration/HVAC equipment that can expose the workers to extreme cold from refrigerant and high heat from brazing operations. This role routinely works in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust. These conditions require employees to use the correct PPE and safe work practices.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Physical Demands:</b></div><div>
This position is very active and requires excellent stamina to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Employees are regularly required to walk and stand for long periods, hear, drive, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, use hands and fingers, and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.</div>

The HVAC/R Technician role is primarily responsible for performing repairs and maintenance to a variety of HVAC and Refrigeration equipment including air conditioning, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, hermetic compressors, commercial furnaces, boilers, burners, intake and exhaust fans, economizers and humidifiers, RTUs, remote condensing units, ice machines, walk-in coolers &amp; freezers, and upright refrigerators &amp; freezers.</div>
Qualifications:

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for assisting in the repair and overhaul of equipment, refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment to ensure customer needs are met efficiently, accurately, and on time.</div><ul><li>
Provides service to the customer base by repairing and overhauling equipment, such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, and electrical and mechanical control devices in a safe, efficient, and timely manner that exceeds customers&rsquo; expectations</li><li>
Provides general repair work on refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment, such as air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machine equipment, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors, and electric motors in a safe and timely manner.</li><li>
Provides preventative maintenance activities for customers by diagnosing equipment malfunction and any operating deficiency of the mechanical equipment to ensure quality work performance for the customer base.</li><li>
Test malfunctioning systems and components using electrical and/or mechanical skills.</li><li>
Maintain legible corporate and personal records of work history.</li><li>
Provides department support by processing job tickets, and work orders to the necessary department promptly.</li><li>
Provide support by picking up, delivering, and installing cases.</li><li>
Perform work on minor construction and remodeling projects including startups of new installations.</li><li>
Drives company vehicle in a safe manner.</li><li>
Performs other related duties and projects as assigned by management.</li></ul>
Qualifications:
<ul><li>High school diploma/GED.</li><li>
EPA certification.</li><li>
Certification from an accredited vocational-technical or trade school a plus!</li><li>
Minimum 3+ years of commercial refrigeration experience required.</li><li>
Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets a strong plus.</li><li>
Familiarity with single systems and rack systems along with previous work on display cases and walk-in boxes is very helpful.</li><li>
Must have a good driving record and be able to work independently.</li><li>
Emergency on-call availability is a basic requirement.</li><li>
Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. with no assistance and also be able to sit and/or stand for several hours at a time.</li></ul>
