Demco is growing and is seeking an Industrial/Manufacturing Engineers for our semi-trailer manufacturing facility. Demco provides a competitive compensation &amp; benefits package that takes into account your skills, and expertise. This position will work out of our Spencer, IA facility.
Work Schedule is Monday - Thursday 6am/4:30pm and a half day Friday rotation
Primary Duties:<ul><li>
Design and improve processes of the manufacturing systems with a strong emphasis on quality, productivity, and operating costs by implementing lean concepts and sustaining ISO</li><li>
Manage projects to reduce non-value added activities</li><li>
Research and implement new tools and technology, including assisting with the quoting and purchasing process</li><li>
Analyze manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, and production equipment</li><li>
Design and create minor jigs and fixtures</li><li>
Administer and process time studies and line balancing</li><li>
Develop work instructions and provide training to production personnel</li><li>
Implement continuous improvement/Lean principles</li><li>
Assist with design for manufacturability for new products using the 7 stages of design process</li><li>
Collaborate closely with the maintenance group to effectuate equipment upgrades and improvements</li><li>
Confer with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes</li><li>
Prepare charts for representation of statistical data</li><li>
Work with and support ISO 9001 work instructions and procedures</li><li>
Maintain accurate records and files</li></ul>
Requirements:

Qualifications/Experience:<ul><li>
Equivalent to a two or four year degree preferred with major course work in an engineering curriculum or a related area of study, with at least 2 years of on the job experience; or 3-5 years of on the job experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job</li><li>
Experience with fixtures and robotic welding or fabrication including press brake a plus, but not required</li><li>
Project management skills - ability to organize and manage multiple projects through manufacturing process</li><li>
Must be able to effectively present information to clients, customers and employees</li><li>
Excellent computer knowledge and skills with drafting programs</li><li>
Excellent communication skills required</li><li>
Must be detail oriented and possess a willingness to accept challenges and strive for continual improvement in all areas</li><li>
Must be safety minded and practice shop safety</li><li>
Must be self motivated to work independently</li></ul>
